Sunday News #42

Sunday Post and Sunday Salon are blog news memes hosted at Caffeinated Reviewer and Reader Buzz, respectively. It’s a chance to share news, recap the past week on your blog, and showcase books and other things.
Feeling

I’m feeling a little disappointed. My arm has been hurting something awful this week so I haven’t been able to participate in NaNoWriMo. I’m okay, though. I’ve decided to postpone my participation until December. I know the official NaNoWriMo won’t still be in full swing, but I can still have fun and write.

Blogging

This week on the blog:

Reading

I finished reading the NEW MOON audiobook this week and I started listening to the ECLIPSE audiobook. Since I’m not participating in NaNo right now, I’m going to try to read a physical book too.

Listening

I’ve mostly been listening to audiobooks. However, while I was driving to a restaurant to celebrate my older sister’s birthday this week, I listened to Weezer. My favorite song by Weezer is “Undone (The Sweater Song).” I’m sure almost everyone knows this song. Just in case you don’t, though, here it is.

Watching

Corey and I watched the last three HALLOWEEN movies. I loved them, especially the ending of the third movie. It was fun to watch them during Halloween.

The CHRISTMAS COOKIE CHALLENGE and HOLIDAY WARS started this week. The HOLIDAY BAKING CHAMPIONSHIP starts tomorrow. I’m really excited. This part of the year’s my favorite because of all the awesome food competitions.

Loving

I love Corey’s and my new kitten. We adopted an almost four-month-old female on Friday. She’s all black, so little, cuddly, and playful. At first, we named her McGonagall and we were going to call her Mags or Maggie (that’s why my Instagram post says what it does). However, we decided she reminds us of our favorite character from DISENCHANTMENT and settled on Luci McGonagall. Luci has the loudest purr I’ve ever heard on a kitten before. (I tried to record it, but it didn’t do it justice so I decided not to share it.) She loves enticing Izzy to play with her and Izzy’s being very patient. Here are a couple of pictures and a video of her playing: (I also included Izzy in my Instagram post because she didn’t want to feel left out.)

Wanting

I want to my arm to feel better. I can tell that it’s getting better; it’s just so painful sometimes that I forget it is. My chiropractor thinks I might have a small tear in my rotator cuff and that’s why the pain isn’t going completely away. I have an appointment with my primary care doctor, but it isn’t until November 16. I’m just trying to survive until then. Hopefully, it’ll spontaneously heal on its own before then.

Needing

I need to read THE UNDERTAKING OF HART AND MERCY this week as it’s due back to the library on Thursday. I’ve had it for almost 6 weeks now.

How was your week? Anything exciting happen?

Thanks, Suey! 😀 Fortunately, as I said in my text, the pain is almost gone thanks to the turmeric pills I started taking yesterday! I’m making a goal to start writing next Tuesday. I’ll definitely give you updates. I hope NaNo’s going well for you.

We tried to watch all three of the new Halloween movies but we couldn’t find one of the movies in any of our subscriptions. We’ll have to try next year.

Thanks, Alicia! 😀 Someone recommended turmeric to help with the inflammation in my arm. I bought some pills yesterday and my pain is down 80%. I don’t know if it’s a coincidence, but I’ll take it.

We had to buy one of the three movies since only two of them were available on the services we have. I hope you get to watch them next year!

Adorable kitten! I suffering through frozen shoulder right now, so I can relate to a painful joint. If I don’t move it this way or over there, or raise my arm, or try to put on a bra, etc, it’s not too bad. But as soon as I try to actually use it, the pain is excruciating. Let’s hope BOTH of us get our shoulder issues resolved sooner rather than later! 🙂
Hope you feel well enough to read a good book this week.

I’m glad I could share that song with you! I <3 it. It was my first introduction to Weezer when I was first in college 25+ years ago. And, thanks! 😀 Luci’s a lot of fun.

My neck has been bothering me for months now. It feels better when I pop it. I’m sorry your hand is bothering you and that the hand pain is putting a crimp in your NaNoWriMo.

I’m doing NaNoWriMo, but I’m not worried about trying to finish anything. I’m just having fun writing every day.

    Love that little kitten.

I’m hoping to start NaNo next Tuesday. I’m going to give my arm a week to see if the pain stays controllable. I hope you have fun doing NaNo. I’m not worried about finishing anything either. I just want to try. 😀

Thanks so much! 😀 Luci is really cute and cuddly. She’s a fruitcake like most kittens, but she’s adorable.

So sorry about your arm! It’s very limiting to have a problem with one of them. LOVE the kitty. (both of them) As you know, I’m partial to black cats. Mari says hi!

Black cats are the best. 😀 Tell Mari hi back! I bet Luci looks a lot like Mari when she grows up.
