Book Blogger Hop #5

Book Blogger Hop is a weekly meme that was originally created and hosted by Jennifer at Crazy-for-Books in March 2010. As of February 2013, it’s hosted by Billy at Coffee Addicted Writer. The aim of the blog hop is to provide bloggers with an opportunity to follow other blogs, discover new books, make friends, and gain new followers.
Today’s Question(s) is …

Which do you prefer to be known as: a voracious reader or a book nerd?

My Answer(s) is …

Honestly, I’m okay with either. However, I don’t read nearly as many books as most book bloggers because I’m a slow reader. Because of that, some people may not think I qualify as a voracious reader. It’s okay, though. I really like the idea of being a book nerd.

What about you? What do you prefer to be known as?

I’m not really either although I used to be a voracious reader. I still read as much as I can but for some reason, it makes me sleepy. I would call myself a book lover.

I understand. Reading has started to make me sleepy too, especially if I haven’t had a good night’s sleep. I like “book lover.” It’s clear and says exactly what it means. πŸ˜€

Probably the same. πŸ™‚ I think as book bloggers we’re probably ALL voracious readers compared to the general populace haha, but I often read a lot slower than other bloggers too (or I should say I don’t read as many books). Some bloggers that read a dozen or more a month- I am in awe. πŸ™‚

Glad you liked the Dune covers BTW. Man, that post is giving me fits. I posted it only to find that some of the stuff I thoguht I had saved… wasn’t. So I had to try to redo it all. Gah.

    Have a nice weekend πŸ™‚ ..

I’m sorry you’re having trouble with your post. That’s the worst. I’m glad I got to see the covers before it started having issues. πŸ˜€ I hope you get it fixed soon.

I’m also in awe of the bloggers who can read dozens or more each month. I’m doing good if I can read 4-6 books each month. I normally read only 1-3 because of something or other. LOL.

I’m a slow reader as well. It always amazes me when I see that some people read several books in one week. I have a goal to read an entire book in one day sometime by the end of this year, but I won’t do that too often because I’ll be mentally exhausted and I won’t get anything else done. I’m lucky if I finish one book in a week. But I think someone can be a slow reader and still be considered a voracious reader. πŸ™‚

I’ve read a book in a day once. It was THE FAULT IN OUR STARS. I was trying to get it done before my friends and I went to the movie that evening. Fortunately, it was a fast book, but I didn’t get much out of it and ended up liking the movie better. If I had taken my time with it, I think I would’ve liked it better. πŸ˜€

I’m also always amazed when others can read more than one book a week. I rarely finish or even start a second book in the same week.

I try to read every day, but I haven’t been since earlier this year. When I get frazzled or depressed, reading is the first thing to go. πŸ™
