Sunday News #28

Sunday Post and Sunday Salon are blog news memes hosted at Caffeinated Reviewer and Reader Buzz, respectively. It’s a chance to share news, recap the past week on your blog, and showcase books and other things.
Feeling

I’m feeling better than I did last week. I’m still feeling a little depressed, but not as bad as I was feeling.

Blogging

This week on the blog:

Reading

I haven’t read at all this week. I’ve been too busy going to the chiropractor, OBGYN, the vet for one of my cats, unpacking and organizing, and going back and forth to IKEA.

This week, I’m going to try to do some reading. I have A DRESS OF VIOLET TAFFETA by Tessa Arlen, MISS ALDRIDGE REGRETS by Louise Hare, and THOUSAND MILES by Bridget Morrissey out from the library.

Listening

I’m still listening to my 80s playlist while I’m in the car. As I was searching for songs to add to my playlist, I found a song that I used to love to listen when I was a teen. It’s “El Shaddai” by Amy Grant. It’s one of my favorites.

Watching

Corey and I are still watching ONLY MURDERS IN THE BUILDING. I wish we’d not started watching until season 2 was completely aired. It’s so frustrating to wait between each episode.

We started watching the new season of American Horror Stories and that first episode was SOOOOO creepy.

We’re up to season 4 episode 4 of STRANGER THINGS. Holy crap!

Loving

I love Corey so much. Friday was a hard day. I found out that my LASIK has to be postponed because my primary care physician’s office isn’t communicating with my surgeon. I tried to help by going to his office and see if I could get the info they need to send my surgeon. The problem is that today’s a holiday in Utah so everyone left early on Friday. (To be honest, it’s not my doctor’s fault. The office staff are difficult to work with.) Anyway, Corey took me to Baskin Robbins so I could get some pink bubblegum ice cream. That’s love.

Wanting

I want to get things worked out with my doctors so my LASIK doesn’t get postpone anymore than it already has.

Needing

I need to rest today. I’m pooped from everything that’s been going on this week.

How was your week? Anything exciting happen?

Thanks, Roberta! 😀 I’ll be much more diligent this next week to make sure everything that needs to happen for me to proceed with my LASIK surgery gets done. I didn’t this past week because I thought both offices had it under control–clearly not.

Communication between various medical offices has been atrocious for us too; I hope you can get it worked out! It’s frustrating to gear up and look forward to having a procedure done, then it’s postponed. Pink bubble gum ice cream! I’ve never seen that anyway. I’m much more of a pralines and cream type. Nothing much new here–heat wave coming this week, ugh.

Thanks, Margaret! 😀 I love pink bubblegum ice cream. I always have. Corey thinks it’s disgusting, lol. My doctor back home has now ordered the same set of tests twice to be done while we’re in Montana and the facility swears they haven’t gotten anything. I worked healthcare for 20+ years. This is so frustrating for me. I always tried to stay on top of everything and make life as easy as I could for my patients and anyone else I interacted with. I share your irritation.

I hope you get everything worked out soon!

I’m sorry you’re dealing with communication issues between your doctors too. Sometimes, you find a truly helpful person in medical administration, but they’re few and far between. It sounds like you were one of the good ones. 😀

I loved Amy Grant’s song too, I haven’t heard it in forever. I hope you are able to get things settled soon, with the doctor, with your new place, so you can get more rest, reading, and relax more! Have a great week.

I’m so glad you’re feeling a bit better. Oh wow, Baskin Robbins Pink Bubble Gum Ice cream is the best!! Lucky you. I haven’t had it in years, but we used to always get it as kids. And I haven’t heard El Shaddai in years!! I also love that song, thanks for sharing it.

Thanks, Wendy! 😀 Ha ha. Yep, I basically a large child. Whenever I go to Baskin Robbins, I usually order pink bubblegum ice cream. Most adults opt for more adult flavors, lol. To each their own.

Amen. I’m sorry it took so long to get your thumb sorted out. That must’ve been so frustrating. Why do things have to be so complicated in the medical industry, right?

The problem with Dr’s communicating IS REAL. I think they are just so overwhelmed and short staffed but it’s really frustrating when you’re trying to get things done.

Yeah, I hate waiting each week for Murders in the Building too. Isn’t that why we pay extra for streaming?? So we can binge and not watch commercials?? I’m loving this season though. They are really clicking.

I’ve never watched American horror Story – despite recording several seasons lol Can you watch this one without having seen the previous seasons?

Agreed. I think some offices are also not willing to hire enough staff because they need to save money.

This season of Only Murders in the Building is fantastic. The episodes are way too short, though, lol. I want them to be longer each time I watch one.

You can watch American Horror Stories (it’s a spin-off of the original) without watching the previous seasons. Once you start watching the original, you should watch all seasons in order because they tie-in in weird ways.

Glad to hear you’re feeling better this week! I started Only Murders in the Building too, but I’m only on the first season still so hopefully season 2 will be complete by the time I get there. Hope you’re having an amazing week!
