Top Ten Tuesday #40

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.
Books on My Winter 2023 TBR

I honestly love the original prompt for today. However, I only got two books for Christmas this year. This is completely fine because I have enough of a backlog as there is, lol. For those who are curious, I received a beautiful new edition of DUNE by Frank Herbert and PEOPLE WE MEET ON VACATION by Emily Henry, and I’m excited about both of them!

Because I missed the prompt, I’ve decided to go back a couple of weeks and do the yearly “Books on My Winter 2022-2023 TBR.” (I changed it to Winter 2023, though, since we have less than a week left this year.) As always, I may plan to read specific books during the next few months because they fit a challenge, they’re for book club, or whatever. Whether I stick to my plan is all dependent on my mood as I can’t force myself to read something I’m not in the mood for. Here are ten books I might read this winter, mood permitting:

I’m most excited to read A FIRE ENDLESS by Rebecca Ross because I adored A RIVER ENCHANTED earlier this year.

What about you? Which books are on your winter TBR? Do we have any in common?

Great collection of books! I meander from one book to another, whatever catches my fancy. The Book Club book is always my first priority. I was one of the few who didn’t care for Crawdads. As a mystery reader, the mystery was a nothing burger and as a sometimes romance reader, the love story wasn’t well-written. (in my opinion)

Thanks, Margaret! 😀 I totally get putting the book club book as top priority. I try to do that as well unless it’s a book I really don’t want to read, lol. Sorry you didn’t care for Crawdads. You can’t win them all, right? Hopefully, I’ll still like it.

I also love Stanley Tucci! He’s one of my favorite actors. I didn’t realize this Backman book was being adapted. I’ll have to check it out after I read it. 😀

Woot woot! 😀 Yay book club! Mistborn’s on there because 1) it’s part of a challenge I’m participating in next year, and 2) my friend has wanted me to read it for 10+ years, lol.

I hope you enjoy Where the Crawdads Sing! It’s not something I usually read, but I listened to the audiobook and was fascinated with the story.

One of these days I’ll need to read an Ali Hazelwood book. 🙂

I’ve actually started Crawdads and I’m quite fascinated by it as well. 😀 I’m glad you loved it as much as you did despite it not being your usual genre. 😀

This looks like a great list; I hope you enjoy them all! The Undertaking of Hart and Mercy is one I want to read, too. Hopefully we’ll both get to it (and enjoy it) in 2023!

Thanks for stopping by my TTT earlier. 🙂

OOh nice ones! Some new to me ones but I did read The Undertaking of Mercy and Hart and that was a really cute, really fun read! I loved the blend of paranormal added to it and the dash of mystery! And of course the romance between Hart and Mercy! It was really cute! Lol.

    Thanks for visiting my TTT!

This is a great TBR! I’m also very much a mood reader so I set very loose possibility piles for me to tackle but I also never end up reading those either. 😂 I’ve read a few of these but Hart & Mercy was the one I read this year and I absolutely loved it. It’s one of my top reads of the year! I hope you enjoy all of these books whenever the right mood strikes. Happy reading!

I missed this prompt too but I don’t know what I’ll read. I need to finish The Satanic Verses. Once I finalize my reading challenge choices, I’ll have a better idea what’s in my future.

I loved My Grandmother… and Crawdads, though as a North Carolinian, the nonsensical geography of the latter drove me up the wall. It is a great story aside from that.

    Enjoy!

I totally get that. I’m only participating in one challenge next year so figuring out my possible TBR wasn’t too difficult. 😀

That would be very annoying. I’ve read books where I know the area and when it’s wrong, I can’t focus on anything but that, lol.

Backman’s book is a good one and I hope you get a chance to read it this winter! Several of the other books on your list are ones I hope to read at some point. The Undertaking of Hart and Mercy is new to me–but I think it’s one I would really enjoy. I’m adding that to my wish list.

I’m very excited to read Backman’s book. I loved ANXIOUS PEOPLE and I’m looking forward to reading his others. I hope you enjoy reading Hart & Mercy! I’m hoping to read it in January.
