Top Ten Tuesday #33

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.
Books I Loved So Much I Bought Them

This week’s prompt is “Books I Love So Much I Bought a Personal Copy for my Library.” My library isn’t huge, but it isn’t small either. A lot of the books I have are ones I haven’t even read yet. LOL. However, there are quite a few that I bought because I loved them so much. Here are my top ten choices:

What about you? Which books did you love so much you had to buy a copy for your library? Do we have any in common?

I’ve loved several of those and want to read a couple more of them. There are special books that I pick up to re-read certain parts or the ending.

I have physical copies of the Twilight series of my shelf, too. I can’t imagine ever reading the series again (in fact, I’m sure I won’t), but for some reason I keep hanging on to them. πŸ™‚

My copies of the Twilight Saga are all signed by Stephenie Meyer. They’re well-loved. I still reread the series and/or watch the movies every few years. It and Harry Potter are what got me reading. They’ll always have a special place in my heart. πŸ˜€

I didn’t love Dune but I do like a lot of the covers for that series. that one in particular is awesome. Dr seuss also πŸ™‚

Ha ha! πŸ˜€ I bet a lot of people would say their library is perfectly complete without Twilight. It’s okay, though. Those of us who love it can enjoy it for what it is.

That’s awesome that you donated it when you moved back home. Books are the hardest things to move. They take up so much space and are so heavy! πŸ˜€ I hope you do get the books you want back on your shelves!

I totally understand. There are so many books I know I’ll like that I just haven’t read yet. I don’t know why, but I haven’t. LOL. πŸ˜€

I haven’t read the Dune books, but I’ve seen the movie and I just purchased the box set of books for my husband. I also enjoyed Twilight. Team Jacob. Edenbrooke looks really good.

I’ve actually only read the first Dune book. It’s my all-time favorite book and because it’s on such a high pedestal, I don’t want to possibly ruin it by reading what could be (probably not) a subpar series. LOL. That’s an inside look at my neuroses. πŸ˜€

I’m Team Edward. I like Jacob, just not for Bella, lol. Not necessarily for Renesme either, but I can get on board with that if I think of Renesme being in her late teens. πŸ˜€

Thanks, Leah! πŸ˜€ The Bear and the Nightingale and its sequels are definitely faves too. I love the characters and the world-building in them so much!

So many great books. I read Midnight Library earlier this year and I already want to read it again. Same with Anxious People.

I bought Twilight before I owned a Kindle, so I have the series on my shelf as well. I don’t have Anxious People, but I did buy it for my mom. I could inherit it back someday. These are both great additions to your shelf!

I also had Twilight before I owned a Kindle. The first time I read it, though, I borrowed it from a friend. I bought it a week later, lol. Now, I have a Kindle version and audiobook version. πŸ˜‚

I also love that you bought Anxious People for your mom. That’s definitely a book I like to recommend to the other readers in my life. πŸ˜€

Thanks, Louise! πŸ˜€ I love Green Eggs and Ham too. I honestly love all of Dr. Seuss’ books. Fox in Socks in my favorite, though, because it’s so much fun to read aloud.

I still need to read The Bear and the Nightingale! Though I don’t own a copy yet, and I’ve been trying to decide what format to get it in. I guess I should just pick one, and then buy multiple if I decide I need more copies later. πŸ˜‰ Thanks for stopping by my TTT earlier!

Thanks, Mareli! πŸ˜€ It’s still in progress, but I’m loving the new look too. I hope you enjoy The Bear and the Nightingale as much as I do. I love the characters and world-building in that one so much.

I keep forgetting that I want to see if my local library has any Matt Haig books, so thank you for the reminder. And I loved Twilight as a younger reader

I bought a copy of The Flatshare before I even read it because it just sounded *so* good and I wasn’t wrong. Definitely a fave 😍 I had a copy of TBATN and loved it so much that I bought one of the special editions of it and although it cost a whole lot, it was worth it cos they’re stunning. Great list! πŸ˜ƒ
