Top Ten Tuesday #30

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.
Books I Love that were Written Over 10 Years Ago

I think this week’s prompt is “Books I Love that were Written Over 10 Years Ago.” As bloggers, I think we tend to focus on the more recently published books when there are so many other awesome books written a long time ago (in a galaxy far, far away ). Anyway, here are my top ten 15 books:

All of these books were published before 1990 and I rated them four or five stars when I read them.

What about you? Which books written more than 10 years ago did you love reading? Do we have any in common?

That’s when I read it too. 😀 My teacher had us do an exercise where we rewrote the ending. That’s why this particular title stood out to me for all these years.

Thanks, Rae! 😀 I’ve actually never read another book by Agatha Christie, but I’m familiar with other stories because of movies. I’d like to read more; it’s just a matter of when, lol.

Great list! I’ve read nine of these. TKAM is my favorite book of all time and ANNE OF GREEN GABLES is definitely in my Top 5. I also loved AND THEN THERE WERE NONE and P&P. Mary Higgins Clark was my favorite writer when I was a teen. I stayed up WAY too many nights finishing her books when I should have been sleeping 🙂

    Happy TTT!

Fabulous list! Seeing Where Are the Children brings back such memories — it was the first book of its kind that I read, and I remember being so shocked and blown away by it! These are all great choices, and it makes me happy to see Anne of Green Gables. I’m a very late arrival to Anne’s charm, but I love those books so much!

Where are the Children was my first foray into that type of book too. 😀 I’m also very late to the Anne love. I still haven’t read more of the series. I need to, though.

I understand. I have a hard time saying that I enjoyed reading NIGHT as well. It was eye-opening. I learned things I hadn’t known yet. How it affected his life and belief really shook me. I can only imagine what it must’ve been like reading it as a Jewish person. I know it probably made you feel things I could never understand.

Oh, good choices! Agatha Christie, LOTR, Anne of Green Gables – all made my list, though a different Christie novel was my favorite. And some of your other picks are wonderful, too. I’ve not read all of them, but some are on my TBR lists, notably P&P, the Eva Ibbotson books, and My Father’s Dragon
