I’m not going to lie. This prompt stumped me a little bit. It’s obvious it means books like Harry Potter. The only problem is have I read any books recently with names in the title or are they all 15+ years old? Here are my top ten books with names in the title:
I think the most recent book on my list is MY LADY JANE as I still haven’t read the other two in the companion series. I also haven’t read any of the other books in The Lunar Chronicles yet.
What about you? Which books with names in the title are on your list? Do we have any in common?
I’ve been learning in DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy) that life is full of dialectics, or two opposing truths. In this case, the two opposing truths are: 1) I don’t agree with JKR’s stance regarding trans people, and 2) I still love Harry Potter.
I struggled a bit with this prompt too and had to go back a fair few years to get me to ten! Scarlet was my favourite of the Lunar Chronicles series. 🙂 My TTT
I’ve heard that Scarlet seems to be everyone’s favorite. I’m excited to read the rest of the series. I just need to actually do it, lol. So little time and so many books.
That’s so exciting! I loved Finnikin of the Rock so much! I haven’t read any of the other books in series. I’m not sure I’m going either, but I loved his book. I hope you love it just as much as I did!
Reading through your list was like being reminded of old friends. Finnikin of the Rock. Hadn’t thought of him in years. and Lady Jane. What a funny book. I laugh to think of it. My list of book titles with names
I had a hard time with this prompt, too. I could only think of a few that I had actually read, so I did something else. Funny enough, I’ve read four of the books on your list! I don’t know why NONE of them came to mind for this topic. LOL.
Ha! I had to use Goodreads to help me think of these books. I can never remember titles or characters unless I see covers or something on Goodreads. My brain doesn’t work as well as it used to, ever since I started taking some of my mental health meds.
Ooo! Anna and the French Kiss! I have been wanting to read that one for awhile now. I have heard great things about My Lady Jane, another one I would like to read at some point. I really liked Cinder and am not sure why I haven’t read the rest of the series. I love the Harry Potter books. This is a great list! Thank you for sharing!
I’m glad you liked my list. 🙂 I hope you like Anna and My Lady Jane when you get to them. Maybe you and I will finally read the next installment of The Lunar Chronicles this year, lol.
You did a good job seeing you were struggling. I love a couple of these books
Thanks! I wasn’t necessarily struggling. I just wasn’t sure if any of my choices were going to be recent reads, that’s all.

My TTT
I’ve heard that Scarlet seems to be everyone’s favorite. I’m excited to read the rest of the series. I just need to actually do it, lol. So little time and so many books.
Now I feel a little silly…how could I have skipped Harry Potter?!
Lol. I think a lot of people will skip books that are obvious on this week’s prompt. I’m sure I missed an obvious one too.
I did actually. I missed Eliza and Her Monsters by Francesca Zappia. It’s one of my favorites from 2018 and 2019.
Cinder is a good choice! I’ve seen it on a few lists this week.
My post: https://lydiaschoch.com/top-ten-tuesday-books-with-character-names-in-the-titles/
I have seen Cinder or another one of the Lunar Chronicles on a few lists as well. 🙂 Marissa Meyer is definitely well-liked.
The whole “so and so of forename surname” format seems to have been a recent trend, I have quite a lot on my TBR but not many that I’ve actually read.
I’ve noticed that as well. It’s like the girls in dresses with no heads on covers trend a few years back.
I’m reading Finnikin of the Rock right now! I’ve only owned the e-book since 2013…lol.
That’s so exciting! I loved Finnikin of the Rock so much! I haven’t read any of the other books in series. I’m not sure I’m going either, but I loved his book. I hope you love it just as much as I did!
Great list! I’ve had that Kendare Blake book on my TBR for a while, and seriously need to read it.
I hope you like it when you do! It’s really good. I enjoyed the sequel too.
Harry Potter is a great pick!
Here is our Top Ten Tuesday.
Thanks! I’ll always love Harry and his adventures. 🙂
I still can’t believe I forgot the Harry Potter & Cinder books! lol My TTT
Oh no! It’s not too hard to forget books on these lists. There are always so many to choose from!
Reading through your list was like being reminded of old friends. Finnikin of the Rock. Hadn’t thought of him in years. and Lady Jane. What a funny book. I laugh to think of it. My list of book titles with names
Oh, yay! I’m glad you had a walk down memory lane. 🙂 I also giggle when I think of My Lady Jane, lol.
Cinder made my list as well. I should have added What Alice Forgot! I can’t believe I didn’t.
I’m surprised you did put What Alice Forgot on your list too. I know how much you love Liane Moriarty and that What Alice Forgot is your favorite.
We do not have any in common nor have I read any of these. My husband loves Harry Potter but it’s not my genre. https://cindysbookcorner.blogspot.com/2022/02/top-ten-tuesday-character-names.html
To each their own, right? 🙂

Harry Potter! You know I almost did this one- then didn’t ha ha- but Harry wasn’t even on y list. funny how we miss the obvious ones sometimes!
What Alice Forgot- ooh good one. I’ve read most of Moriarty’s books but not that one…
Harry Potter may not be on everyone’s minds that much anymore, even though readers still love the story.
What Alice Forgot is the best one! You need to read it!
