Top Ten Tuesday #28
Books Set in a Place I’d Like to Visit (Real or Fictional)
This week’s prompt is a really fun one. It’s “Top Ten Books Set in a Place I’d Like to Visit (Real or Fictional).” There are so many places I’d love to visit. Hopefully, I can narrow it down to ten. Here are my top ten choices:
Hogwarts
Lyra’s Oxford
Idris
Narnia
Bella’s Forks
Caladan
England
Canada
Sweden
South Africa
What about you? Which book settings would you like to visit? Do we have any in common?
P.S. I’m going in for LASIK this morning so I won’t be able to comment on other blogs until later this week. Just know I haven’t forgotten about you.
Oh wouldn’t Narnia be the best ever….
If you ever come to South Africa – I hope you will be able to visit the Eastern Cape and come and say hi!
Happy TTT!

I’d love to come say hi if I ever get to South Africa. 😀
I just finished the Narnia books and, honestly, I’d rather not go there…it’s too much like our world. Dune wouldn’t be my choice either. Or the world of The Golden Compass. I’d probably pick a world where there was magic, especially if I could have magic.
I don’t want to go to Dune (Arrakis). I want to go to Paul’s home planet Caladan. It sounds beautiful.
I only want to go to Lyra’s Oxford because I’ll have a dæmon. I want a dæmon so badly it hurts!
I can understand your trepidation about all of these worlds, though. I’m just looking for different aspects of them.
I’d love to visit Narnia!

It would be awesome to go there, wouldn’t it? 😀
London and Canada are on my bucket list!
Here is our Top Ten Tuesday. Thank you!
Definitely! Mine too. 😀
I’ll visit all these places with you, Jenni! Nice choices. And I’d love to go back to Canada, especially eastern Canada.
Thanks, Wendy! 😀 Yes, Canada is such a large country. I’d love to visit all provinces.
Great choice, I’d love to visit Hogwarts or Narnia. I’m not so keen on meeting vampires though 😂
Lol. I’m okay with meeting the Cullens or Denali clan, but I wouldn’t want to meet the other vampires. 😀 And, Hogwarts would be my top choice as long as I could be magical too.
Good luck on the surgery! A definite yes on HP and His Dark Materials! Probably on Dune although it was a dangerous place. No way on Trevor Noah’s South Africa; I loved reading about it (fascinating) but it sounded brutal.
Thanks, Margaret. 😀 I don’t mean Trevor Noah’s South Africa. I just meant South Africa in general. And, I don’t want to go to Dune (Arrakis). I want to go to Paul’s home planet Caladan. It sounds beautiful.
Ha-ha. I tweaked my list this week to places I DON’T want to visit. DUNE was on that list. Funny. My TTT list of places I don’t want to visit
Lol. That would actually be a great way to do this prompt. I don’t want to go to Dune (Arrakis) either. I want to go to Paul’s home planet Caladan. It sounds beautiful. 😀
Narnia would be on my list for sure!
I hope the LASIK goes well for you
Thanks, Cassie! 😀 Narnia would be so fun to visit, wouldn’t it?
I’d love to go to Hogwarts and Narnia too. I’ve actually been to South Africa, I lived out in Cape Town for three months whilst I was doing a volunteer program out there and it was AMAZING. I would love to go back though and see more of the country. I live in England, so naturally I’ve been to quite a lot of places in this country! I’d really love to go to Canada too, it looks so beautiful!

That’s awesome that you lived in South Africa for a few months. I’d love to explore England and the surrounding UK countries. The pictures of the area are so beautiful. And, yes, to Canada being beautiful! 😀
Good luck with LASIK! I like your list… Narnia and England would be on mine too.
Thanks, Greg! 😀 Narnia seems to be the one everyone else agrees with too. LOL. And, England would be amazing.
I have read Twilight and Anxious People. This post sounded hard to me because I don’t keep track of locations in books, but now I want to!
I understand. I don’t really keep track of locations in books either. I just know which country or fictional place they’re set in. 😀
Canada is a large and varied country from coast to coast to coast (yes, there are three oceans around Canada). There is lots to see and do; I’ve been here for 14 years and have barely scratched the surface!

I can imagine that there’s so much to do and see in Canada. It’s going to be as varied as the US is. I’d love to visit all provinces someday. 😀
I’d love to visit Canada some day! (And I’m hoping to read Every Summer After this month) 🙂
I hope you enjoy EVERY SUMMER AFTER. It was such a beautiful, emotional book. 😀
Yes to so many of these! Danger aside, haha… Great list 🙂

Lol. Yes, danger aside. Most of these places, especially the fictional ones, I want to visit aspects of the setting to make the experience more pleasant. 😀
