Top Ten Tuesday #22
Favorite Animals from Books
This week’s prompt is “Books I Wish Had an Epilogue.” My brain isn’t working like it should because I’ve been down with COVID for the past week. Not fun. And, I honestly don’t remember which books have an epilogue or not. I’ve decided to do a past topic that I didn’t participate in instead. The topic is “Favorite Animals from Books.” Here are my top ten nine favorite animals/creatures from books:
Aslan
The Chronicles of Narnia by CS Lewis
Pan
His Dark Materials by Philip Pullman
Dobby
Harry Potter by JK Rowling
Hedwig
Harry Potter by JK Rowling
Solovey
The Winternight Trilogy by Katherine Arden
Deb Grib
The Winternight Trilogy by Katherine Arden
Reepicheep
The Chronicles of Narnia by CS Lewis
Wilbur
CHARLOTTE’S WEB by EB White
Ivan
THE ONE AND ONLY IVAN by Katherine Applegate
What about you? Which books made your list this week? Do we have any in common?
Great list. Cheers to you for still posting this week despite having Covid. Wilbur’s the best. I hope you feel better soon.

Have a great week 🌈
Thanks, Rae! 💜 I do love Wilbur. He’s so cute.
A cute list. I hope you get better soon! I had trouble remembering if books had epilogues or not, plus some books had an epilogue style ending!
Have a great week!

Thanks, Emily! 🙂 Too true. Many books do have epilogue-style endings. I just couldn’t remember which books had which, lol. Oh well.
Aslan and Wilbur, eternal favorites! (And I hope you get good rest and recover soon. Re-reading old favorites always helps, I suppose.) 🙂
Thank you, Lex! 💜 I finally felt well enough to start reading last night. It was really nice to dive into a book again.
I’m sorry to hear you have Covid. That’s not a fun experience at all. May you feel better soon.
Reepicheep is a fantastic answer. If I had a pet mouse, I’d name him or her that for sure. 🙂
My post: https://lydiaschoch.com/top-ten-tuesday-books-that-should-have-been-epilogues/
Thanks, Lydia! 💜 Yes, I’d totally name a pet mouse after Reepicheep. I really want to name one of my next cats after Aslan. I think they’d be a fantastic names for pets.
Oh no! I hope you feel better soon. And great list this week – I absolute adore Solovey, he’s definitely one of my favorite characters in books. And I think it’s super cool that you brought DBT principles into your post as well, since while JKR is not a good person, the characters she created brought joy into many people’s lives.
Here’s my post for this week: http://leahs-books.com/2022/06/14/ttt-books-i-wish-had-a-sequel/
Thanks, Leah! 💜 Thankfully, I am finally starting to feel better. I love finding another Solovey fan–a Winternight trilogy fan anyway. And, yes, I’m glad that DBT is so helpful with situations like Harry Potter. I do understand if others can’t look past it and have to take a step back from everything, though.
I’m sorry to hear you got COVID. Hope you’ll feel better soon!
Dobby and Hedwig are definitely favorites of mine too.
Thanks, Lindsey! 💜 I think I’m on the mend, which is good. My husband is still feeling pretty sick, but he caught a couple of days after I did.
I loved Reepicheep!
Reepicheep is the best. 😀
Sorry to hear that you are still being plagued with Covid!! I hope you are feeling better soon! Great list!
Thanks, Cindy! 💜 I think I’m on the mend now. Corey’s still not feeling all that well, but I think we’re at least getting better.
Sorry to hear that you’ve been feeling rough with COVID, that doesn’t sound fun at all. Hope you’re starting to get on the mend!
I love animal sidekicks in books, they’re always my favourites. Charlotte’s Web was one of my favourite books as a kid and I loved Wilbur but I loved Charlotte even more (very strange because I have always been extremely arachnophobic!).
Thanks, Jo! 💜 I do feel on the mend. I’m just dealing with some lingering symptoms now. Hopefully, they’ll go away soon.
I did love Charlotte, but it goes against my nature to put a spider on my “favorite animal” list, lol. The arachnophobia wins out in the end for me. (I had to cover pictures of her with my hand while I read the book.)
Sorry you’ve been down with Covid. That’s no fun. I hope you’re feeling better soon. And I love your list. Aslan, Hedwig and Reepicheep are all favorite animal characters of mine, too. 🙂
Thanks, Lark! 💜 I’m feeling much better, thank you. I’m just dealing with some lingering symptoms now. Hopefully, they’ll go away soon.
I’m glad you love my list so much. 😀 It makes me happy.
Brain fog is a hideous COVID side effect! I hope you feel better soon.
Thanks! 💜 I look forward to the brain fog lifting.
Aslan and Reepicheep are big favorites of mine. 🙂
I hope you’re feeling on the mend.
Thanks, Greg! 💜 I’m feeling better today. I’m just dealing with some lingering symptoms now. Hopefully, they’ll go away soon. 🙂
Aslan and Reepicheep are definitely the best characters from the Narniad. 😀 Although, I do love Lucy as well.
I’m so sorry to hear that you have been down with Covid!
Love this idea for a Top Ten list. You should submit it for all of us to do one week.
Aslan and Wilbur are two of my favorite animals, too.
Thanks, Deb! 💜 I’m glad you like this idea so much. I’ll go ahead and submit it. 😀
I love these and agree with them on all the ones I’ve also read. I never thought of Dobby as an animal though. Hmmm,
I don’t think of Dobby as an animal either. That’s why I said, “here are my top
tennine favorite animals/creatures from books.” I quietly qualified that some of the characters were more creatures than animals. 😀 Deb Grib is also not an animal, but a creature. He’s a little mushroom spirit.Aslan definitely makes me feel nostalgic. I remember reading those books as a child and wishing I could go to Narnia. 🙂
It would be fun to go to Narnia, wouldn’t it? I’d definitely like going one of the times the Pevensies go.
