Books with an Adjective in the Title
This week’s prompt is a little weird, but I’ll go with it. I couldn’t think of anything off the top of my head, so I went to Goodreads and looked at my “5-Stars” and “4-Stars” shelves to help me come up with my top ten. Without any further ado, here are my top ten books with an adjective in the title:
What about you? Which books with adjectives in their titles made your list? Do we have any in common?
I’m curious about The Night Circus since I read her Starless Sea and didn’t… love it, but it was certainly well written and thought provoking definitely!
Huge Liane Moriarty fan.
Thanks for your comment by the way… it’s good to be back this week. 🙂
I understand, Greg. Sadly, I haven’t read The Starless Sea yet so I can’t tell you whether or not The Night Circus is better.
I am always happy to see lists of books that not only speak to the prompt but are also great reads!
Right? Me too. I’m glad I chose books that fit both, lol. Sometimes, I wonder if I do. Ha!
I started doing a list this week then I started doubting what words were adjectives, and didn’t end up with an inspiring list so I abandoned it.
I know, right? I started doubting if words were adjectives on the books I wanted to include as well. I had to go back to my ELANG 223 class and try to remember what I learned. Hopefully, my teacher would be proud not disappointed, lol.
I’ve read a few of these, obviously Harry Potter, though The Deathly Hallows is one of my least favourite of the series (THE ENDLESS CAMPING). I’ve read The Night Circus and Perfect Scoundrels too, I like the idea of The Night Circus but the writing kind of rubbed me the wrong way. Perfect Scoundrels was really fun but not my favourite of the Heist Society books. I really wish she would do another though, that wasn’t a proper ending!

Yeah, the endless camping wasn’t a lot of people’s favorites. I didn’t mind it, though, for some reason. I loved the Deathly Hallows. I loved how everything tied together from the past seven books, not in a nice bow, but loose ends were tied.
I agree that Ally Carter needs to write another Heist Society book. She said she would if she thinks up another awesome premise because she wasn’t going to write one just to write one. I understand her reasoning, but I’m sad if she doesn’t ever think up another awesome premise.
Oooh, I’ve never seen that Deathly Hallows cover before. I love it! My HP books are originals and they’ve been loved to death. I’m thinking I really need a new set. Maybe for Christmas…
It is a cool cover, isn’t it? It’s one of the new Scholastic paperback box sets. I want to get them just because I love them. There are new British covers that I want too. I have so many editions, lol.
I’m so curious about Anxious People.

It’s such a great book. I loved it. I’m so glad I read it.
The Other Boleyn Girl looks interesting. I had to also consult my tbr lists to find my books to make this easier to do. Thanks for sharing your books.
I really enjoyed reading The Other Boleyn Girl. It was the first time I read a mix of history with fiction.
The Other Boleyn Girl looks great.
Here is our Top Ten Tuesday. Thank you!
It is a great one. I’d like to read it again. 🙂
Well done on the list. It was a strange topic, but very easy to do.
Thanks, Wendy! 🙂 I actually thought the topic was kind of hard only because I started second guessing if words were actually adjectives. I wondered if they were adverbs instead, lol.
Great list, thanks for sharing!
Thanks, Cindy! 🙂
Great list! I love The Night Circus and The False Prince is on my TBR 🙂
Thanks, Lindsey! 🙂 The Night Circus is one of my favorites. I hope you enjoy The False Prince when you read it.
Anxious People was a lot of fun, but still had the tenderness I expect from Backman.
Anxious People was my first Backman. I do agree that it was a lot of fun to read. I absolutely loved it. It’s my favorite book this year so far.
Great list! It’s fun to see all the unusual adjectives people are using today. 🙂 Anxious People didn’t even occur to me, and I just read that one last year!
Thanks, Lisa! I’ve seen a lot on unusual adjectives as well. 😀
I’ve had a signed copy of Night Circus for years – I guess I should read it at some point lol

You totally should read it. It’s such an awesome book. I hope you enjoy it when you do read it. 🙂
Anxious People! Love that choice. Great title and adjective and book.
Thanks! 🙂 I love Anxious People too.
