Sunday News #35
Feeling
I’m feeling happy. I got to spend some time with my BFF on Friday. Corey was out of town so we went out for sushi, played some MarioKart and watched SPIDER-MAN: FAR FROM HOME. It was a lot fun!
Blogging
This week on the blog:
Reading
I’m almost done with SOME OF IT WAS REAL by Nan Fischer. Unless something happens in the last part of the novel to change my mind, I’ll be giving this one four or four and a half stars. I’m excited to get back to WHERE THE CRAWDADS SING by Delia Owens once I’m done.
I’m also halfway through the HARRY POTTER AND THE HALF-BLOOD PRINCE audiobook. It’s been so fun to listen to while I’ve been working on my blog.
Listening
I’ve decided to share a song from the Prisoner of Azkaban movie since I haven’t listened to any music this week due to listening to the Half-Blood Prince audiobook. This is “A Window to the Past” and plays when Harry and Lupin discuss Harry’s parents.
Watching
Corey and I finished watching all four of THE HUNGER GAMES movies. CATCHING FIRE is my favorite, but I do love them all.
We started watching the MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE movies. So far, we’ve watched the first three. This is one of my guilty pleasure franchises. Up to this point, my favorite in the series is ROGUE NATION.
I’m also excited that Food Network’s HALLOWEEN BAKING CHAMPIONSHIP starts its new season tomorrow. The second half of the finale of MASTERCHEF is this week too. Dara Yu, my favorite contestant, is one of the finalists. I really hope she wins.
Loving
I love my new blog theme. I’ve been working on it all this week. It’s almost done. I only have a few things left to do, like update some of my pages and create graphics for my posts to help give my blog a more cohesive look.
Wanting
I want the pinched nerve I have in my upper back to release.
Needing
I need to make a follow-up appointment with my doctor. I have a rash on my face. He thought it might be Rosacea and prescribed me an ointment to use. Unfortunately, it made the rash worse. About six years ago, I had an all-over body rash for almost three months. It was a weird form of Eczema and I had to use a steroid cream to help it go away. I still have some of the cream left so I’ve been using it instead of the other ointment. It seems to be helping, and the rash won’t disappear completely. It’s probably stress-related. It’s been a crazy few months.
How was your week? Anything exciting happen?
I hope all your medical needs get sorted soon! I wish I had time to re read the Harry Potter books. I have had a week or so of short reading nights and it has really put me behind…I also want to have time to watch Mission Impossible. It is the sort of film that I am convinced that I would enjoy!
Hope you have a good week this week!
Thanks, Emily! 😀 I’m sorry about being behind on your reading. I am too. Hopefully, we both can catch up quickly! If you ever do get to watch Mission: Impossible, I hope you love it!
I love to tinker with my blog. I like how you’ve organized things on yours.
I wonder how many Mission Impossible movies there are. It would be fun to try to see them all.
Thanks, Deb! 😀 Tinkering with your blog is fun, isn’t it? There are six Mission: Impossible movies now and the next one is a two-parter so there will be at least eight. I wonder if it’s a two-parter because it’s going to end the franchise? I hope not. I could keep watching those movies forever. Those and the Fast & Furious movies. LOL.
The new blog theme is great! I want to do mine but I am not creative in that way and it’s just not on my radar at this moment in time.
Thanks, Cindy! 😀 I can definitely understand why it’s not on your radar right now. Good luck with the packing!
Love the new blog theme! And that you can do your own graphics, that is so awesome! And time with a BFF is great! Hope you have a good week!
Thanks, Lisa! 😀 I do some of my own graphics. Corey helps me too, and I also purchase images from Adobe Stock Photos to help me with the graphics too. I’m still learning how to use Illustrator and, sometimes, I need a starting point.
I love the new blog look and the Friday with your BFF sounds wonderful. I can relate to the skin issues, I’ve had that happen before with no apparent reason.
Happy reading this week!
Thank you so much! 😀 The skin issues are annoying, aren’t they? Fortunately, with the steroid cream, the rash isn’t very noticeable. I just wish it would go away completely.
I like your new blog theme! That is great that you got to spend some time with your friend. Hope you have a great week!
Thanks, Jamie! 😀 It was a lot of fun and a much needed break.
Love the new theme! Also glad to hear you got to spend some time with the BFF – that’s always such a mood booster to me. Now I’m also craving a rewatch of The Hunger Games movies haha 🙂
Thanks, Lindsey! 😀 Yes, it was definitely a mood booster and something I needed. I hope you enjoy rewatching The Hunger Games movies if you decide to.
Other than the rash it sounds like a good week. I’ve seen the first three Hunger Games films but missed the final one when it was on Netflix. It’s been so long that I need to watch them all again before I see that last one!
I hope you get a chance to watch the last movie. It’s really very good. 😀
I meant to mention last week that I liked your new blog design and layout.
I’ve had a weird rash that comes and goes and all the creams never work. I had it last week and ointment wasn’t working so in a last ditch effort I took antihistamine and it cleared right up.
Karen @For What It’s Worth
Thanks, Karen! 😀 I appreciate it. Maybe, I’ll try some antihistamine and see if it helps me too. Thanks for the idea.
Hope the week is going well. And, happy reading.
Thank you so much! 😀
I am glad you were able to spend time with your BFF! It’s time well spent. 🙂 I hope Some of It Was Real continued to be good and ended on a high note for you. I haven’t yet read Where the Crawdads Sing, but my mom really enjoyed it. I think Catching Fire is probably my favorite of the Hunger Games movies too. I hope you get some relief for your back soon. I hope your rash clears up too. I somehow hurt my knee and go back and forth about whether I need to call the doctor. I hate going and I wanted to see if it resolves itself on its own, but it doesn’t seem to be getting better. I hope your week is going well!
Thank you so much! 😀 I was a little disappointed in the end of Some of It Was Real, but I did still enjoy reading it a lot. I hope your week’s going well too!
