Sunday News #13

Sunday Post and Sunday Salon are blog news memes hosted at Caffeinated Reviewer and Reader Buzz, respectively. It’s a chance to share news, recap the past week on your blog, and showcase books and other things.
Feeling

I’m feeling a little bit tired. I haven’t been sleeping very well lately for some reason. I’m not sure why.

Blogging

This week on the blog:

Reading

I’m still reading my February Book of the Month pick–A RIVER ENCHANTED by Rebecca Ross. I’m about halfway through it. I haven’t had much time to read this week. When I do read, I don’t want to put this book down. So far, I love it so much!

Listening

While I was listening to my “Faves” playlist in the car this week, Daft Punk’s “Instant Crush” came on. I always forget how much I really love that song. Corey turned me on to Daft Punk some years ago and this is my favorite song of theirs.

Watching

I found another show on Netflix that is amazing. It’s called School of Chocolate. I follow Amaury Guichon on Instagram and think he’s an amazing chocolatier and pastry chef. I love seeing what he does with chocolate. When I found out that School of Chocolate was him teaching other chefs how to do what he does, I couldn’t pass it up. Even if you don’t watch the Netflix show, you should check out his artwork on Instagram.

Loving

I love my new hair color. It turned out darker than I expected, but I love how it looks in the sunlight. Unfortunately, I haven’t been feeling well again this weekend so I haven’t had a chance to take a picture yet. I’ll get one and share.

Wanting

I want this semester to be over. I only have three more weeks and it feels like this has been the longest semester of my life, lol.

Needing

I need to convince Corey it’s still too cold to turn the AC on. It’s so cold in our house. I’ve been wearing sweatshirts and sweatpants, cuddling up under blankets and with my cats, and I’m still freezing, lol. The funny thing is I used to get hot like him, but not anymore. Maybe he has thyroid issues like I did.

How was your week? Anything exciting happen?

Hope you get the rest you need. Not sleeping is no fun. And I hate to be cold, so I understand where you are coming from.

Three weeks! You can do it!!!

I am sorry to hear you haven’t been sleeping too good and didn’t feel 100%, but great that you have been loving your reading and viewing. As for my own week I haven’t read or watched that much, however it has been a lovely week at work where we lots of nice end of term/Easter activities. Take care and happy reading! 😃

I’m a teacher and school started on Monday – then life mainly revolves around school and all it entitles. We’ve had some really cold weather here. Seems like we just skipped autumn and went straight for winter!

I hope you feel better real soon….

I can imagine that life revolves around school once it starts with being a teacher. What do you teach? And, I totally get skipping autumn and going straight to winter. That happens where I live too. We often skip autumn and spring and go straight to winter or summer. Good luck with school! 🙂

After how ill you have been I’m not surprised you are feeling so tired – hopefully, you will have a few good nights’ sleep this week and feel much better by next weekend. I have a new hair colour too – after a few washes, I’m sure it won’t be quite as vibrant as it is now as I only had it coloured yesterday.
I’m glad your February book choice has proved to be a winner. Happy reading x

I didn’t even think of being tired because of how ill I’ve been. It definitely could be lingering effects. Maybe, I just need more rest and more recuperation time.

Congrats on the new hair color! I always love getting my hair done! 😀

I have trouble sleeping through the night and wake up way too early, getting sleepy way too soon in the evenings. Sigh! Hope you feel well soon.

      Jenni Elyse says:

I understand, Harvee! I’m the same way. I used to take naps all the time, but I found that the naps interfere with my sleep so I try to keep myself from napping as much as possible.

Thanks, Jen! 🙂 I’m very excited to finish reading it! If I get through my Japanese homework quickly enough today, I’m hoping to finish reading it. If not today, then tomorrow. 😀

It’s said that people sleep better when it’s cold in the room, but being cold all the time is not worth it. I hope you feel better soon! I couldn’t watch anything about chocolate, and I’m being serious, because I would have an urge to eat it and none in the house. Have a good week.

I do actually sleep better when it’s cold, but right now it’s around 55°-60° F in my house at night. Ugh. I don’t mind if it’s around 68° F, but anything lower is too cold.

We’ve had to put the air con on for a few hours every day to counteract the humidity. I’m actually looking forward to it getting cold!
I watched Is It Cake? this week on Netflix which was some mindless fun. I don’t eat much in the way of chocolate but I’ll be sure to check out your recommendation.
My daughter only has three weeks left til mid semester break too. I’m looking forward to her coming home for a week.

Wishing you a great reading week

I can understand needing the AC to counteract humidity. I live in a dry area so I don’t have a problem with humidity. And, after a long hot summer, I look forward to the weather cooling off too. 🙂 Right now, I’m opposite. We’ve had a cold dismal winter (not much snow) and I’m looking forward to warmer weather. I just hope I get spring weather before it’s full on summer.

I’m glad you liked Is it Cake? I hope you like School of Chocolate too. 😀

I’m glad you get to have a week with your daughter in three weeks! 😀

I hope you can get the rest you need. I’m now in that crazy time of year where I have the heat on the downstairs and the AC on upstairs. It works rather well for us. The temp will be everything from 35 to 85 this week which is why it is a mess like that. My daughter has about 5 weeks left and is doing well. I have to get her registered for summer and fall this week. Summer starts just a week after this spring ends though.

      Jenni Elyse says:

Thanks, Anne! 🙂 I wish I had two furnaces/ACs in my townhome. That would solve so. Our upstairs is usually like a sauna and our downstairs is like an icebox. The thermostat is in the downstairs so it makes heating/cooling our house interesting.

Good luck with getting your daughter registered for summer and fall. I did that earlier this week. I’m taking a light load in summer and about the same that I did in spring in fall. I think it will be good. 🙂

There’s nothing quite like getting a new hair color or style! I’m so glad you’re enjoying it! I’ve been tired this week too though I blame allergies and maybe some leftover side effects from my covid booster. I feel like I could sleep for a year! I hope you catch up on sleep and have a wonderful week!

    • Jenni Elyse
      Jenni Elyse says:

Allergies and a COVID booster can definitely make you tired. I’m dreading getting my next booster even though I will because I want to be safe and I know it will help me. I just don’t like the side effects. It’s worth it, though. I hope you get some rest! 🙂

I didn’t read very much this past week either, I am hoping this week is better. I struggle with insomnia flare-ups and have been in one for a while now, I am exhausted. I hope you are able to figure out what is messing with your sleep so you are able to sleep better! Have a great week!

    • Jenni Elyse
      Jenni Elyse says:

I’m sorry you’re dealing with insomnia right now, Cindy. That’s no fun. My husband deals with insomnia and it’s really hard on him. I hope you’re able to work through your flare-up and start sleeping again soon. <3

    Tessa says:

My husband and I have that hot/cold disagreement all the time. I’m like you, I’m usually cold and wear lots of cold weather clothes in the house when it’s warm outside. Have a great week!

    • Jenni Elyse
      Jenni Elyse says:

Lol. I think that’s one of the age old disagreements between spouses. My husbands main argument is I can put more clothes and cuddle up under blankets and he can only take so much off. I totally get where he’s coming from, but 65° F and colder is just too cold in the house, lol.

  12. Greg
    Greg says:

I get cold too and I never used to. After I had surgery a few years ago I get cold a lot more. Who knows? So I understand. It’s hard to find a happy medium sometimes! Anyway, hope you’re feeling better!

    • Jenni Elyse
      Jenni Elyse says:

I wonder what happens to our bodies to change us. I wish whatever happened to us would happen to my husband, lol. Maybe, our house would be at a better temperature. Ha!
