That’s it! Another Bout of Books has come and gone. It was a big, fat bust of a reading week for me. I tried to find time to read, but I didn’t feel very well for part of the week. I focused my time on watching TV and movies because that’s usually what I do when I’m not feeling well. I also worked on my blog a few days during the week.

I hope this week was more successful for other participants than it was for me. Thank you, Amanda and Kelly, for all the hard work you put into making Bout of Books as much fun as it is each and every time!

Don’t forget that the next Bout of Books is January 2 to 8, 2023. Hopefully, I’ll have better luck next time.

Instagram Challange

I did take a couple of pictures for the Instagram Challenge. Here they are.

Totals

Here are my totals! I only read a little bit this week. It’s better than nothing, though.

How was your week? Did you meet your goals?

Bout of Books 35 is finally here! With everything that’s happened in the last month and a half, my reading has slowed way down. I’m really excited to get my reading on this week!

During the week as I participate in Bout of Books, I’ll keep track of my progress on this post. At the end of the week, I’ll post a wrap-up with my totals.

I’ll also be joining in on the Instagram challenge this week. Click here if you’d like to follow me on Instagram .

Bout of Books TBR

I’m hoping I’ll be able to read my IRL book club book, LINES OF COURAGE by Jennifer A Nielsen, and finish WHERE THE CRAWDADS SING by Delia Owens. I also want to start on my massive library haul pile, which includes: A THOUSAND MILES by Bridget Morrissey, MISS ALDRIDGE REGRETS by Louise Hare, THE GOOD SISTER by Sally Hepworth, THE HIDING PLACE by Paula Munier, and DEAD WATER by CA Fletcher.

Progress

Monday

Pages Read: 31 pages
Time Read: 3 hours
Book Finished: None
Currently Reading: LINES OF COURAGE by Jennifer A. Nielsen
Comments: I know 31 pages isn’t a lot of reading, but I did actually read quite a bit today. LINES OF COURAGE is about WWI and I’m fascinated with this time and during WWII. Because of this, I read the author’s note first which sent me down a rabbit hole of looking up information Jennifer A. Nielsen mentioned.

Tuesday

Pages Read: 106 pages

Currently Reading: LINES OF COURAGE
Comments: I started reading in the late evening so I was a bit slower than normal due to being tired. Also, I did keep looking up information about WWI so that slowed down my actual page count.

Comments: I spent most of the day working on my blog. Once I was done, I read until my husband got home from his trip.

Are you participating in Bout of Books 35? What do you plan to read this week? Let’s make this a great week!

I’m joining the Bout of Books readathon from August 15th to 21st. Since I start school on the 22nd, I decided that Bout of Books would be a great way to get one last hurrah in before I’ll be preoccupied with homework.

For those of you who don’t know what Bout of Books is, here’s the official blurb from the Bout of Books blog:

The Bout of Books readathon is organized by Amanda Shofner and Kelly Rubidoux Apple. It’s a weeklong readathon that begins 12:01am Monday, August 15th and runs through Sunday, August 21st in YOUR time zone. Bout of Books is low-pressure. There are reading sprints, Twitter chats, and exclusive Instagram challenges, but they’re all completely optional. For all Bout of Books 35 information and updates, be sure to visit the Bout of Books blog.

From the Bout of Books team

At this point, I’m not exactly sure what books will be on my official Bout of Books TBR, but I’ll post an update with my reading choices when Bout of Books begins.

Are you going to join in the fun?

That’s it! Another Bout of Books has come and gone. It was a big, fat bust of a reading week for me. I tried to find time to read, but my time was spent focusing on my summer class and packing and cleaning. (For those of you who haven’t been following my blog, my husband and I are in the process of selling our place.)

I hope this week was more successful for other participants than it was for me. Thank you, Amanda and Kelly, for all the hard work you put into making Bout of Books as much fun as it is!

Don’t forget that the next Bout of Books is August 15 to 21, 2022.

Bout of Books 34 is finally here! Even though I have a lot going on this week, I hope I can still spend quite a bit of time reading.

During the week as I participate in Bout of Books, I’ll keep track of my progress on this post. At the end of the week, I’ll post a wrap-up post with my totals.

Sadly, I’m in the process of selling my home and moving, and I packed my library on Friday. For this reason, I won’t be participating in the Instagram challenge this time around. I’ll still be posting some pictures throughout the week, so click here if you’d like to follow me on Instagram .

Bout of Books TBR

I want to read CARVE THE MARK by Veronica Roth. It’s my IRL book club’s pick for May. If I finish CARVE THE MARK, then I want to read the next installment in the Narniad for the Narniathon21, which is THE MAGICIAN’S NEPHEW by CS Lewis. I also want to get caught up on the Wyrd & Wonder read-alongs I’m participating in. For those of you who haven’t been following my blog, we’re reading THE SUMMER TREE by Guy Gavriel Kay and THE DARKEST PARK OF THE FOREST by Holly Black.

Comments: This week isn’t turning out the way I wanted it to. I didn’t get the chance to do any reading today either. It was a very emotional day. I opted to spend time with Corey and watch a couple of movies during my downtime. Hopefully, I can get some reading in tomorrow.

Comments: LOL. Another day without any reading. My brain feels like it’s stuck in a little bit of a fog. I opted to binge watch CANDY on Hulu instead of read because my brain didn’t have to work as much. It’s amazing how much packing takes it out of you.
