Book Blogger Hop #3

Book Blogger Hop is a weekly meme that was originally created and hosted by Jennifer at Crazy-for-Books in March 2010. As of February 2013, it’s hosted by Billy at Coffee Addicted Writer.
Today’s Question(s) is …

Are any of your bookcases buckling under the weight of too many books?

My Answer(s) is …

The short answer is no. The long answer is still no AND I have six large bookcases from IKEA that are perfect for what I need. I could also add a couple more in the room designated as my library without any issues. For now, six are more than enough.

They’re IKEA’s HEMNES white stain with light brown bookcases. I adore them. The only thing that would make my library better is purple walls like in my old place.

What about you? Do you have enough shelf space?

Yours looks what my goals are, it looks like a lovely space to read in. I’m in the middle of converting one of my spare rooms into a home library, so I’ve got a couple of new neat bookcases, and a bunch of old, buckling ones that I’m working on replacing

I totally get that. Corey and I don’t have kids and we’re lucky to have a 3-bedroom townhome. I know it’s more than a lot of people have. I think ebooks are a great space saver. 😀

It happens. 😀 Thanks for visiting today and thanks for the compliments on my new look and bookcases.

I’m doing pretty good. I’m just in the process of updating my blog. I’m pretty much done. I just need to create some more images for my posts. 😀

Those shelves are nice, I only have two smallish shelves. I hope to get taller ones eventually, space is part of the reason I donate books.

I have three bookcases which are jam pack with books. There no signs of the shelves bending. One bookcase I had sine I was a kid and it lasted pass two bookcases I used to have and there no sign of it falling apart.

That’s awesome! They must be good quality and sturdy. And, my husband also has a childhood bookcase that has survived what most modern-day cases could not. They don’t make them like they used to. 😀

The Billy bookcases are lovely too. My friend has those and they look very nice. She’s traded them out for shelves that hang directly on the wall now. They’re nice looking too. 😀

Love your bookcases! I have three of them, and they are kind of buckling under the weight so I started buying more ebooks instead. Though I still try to get physical copies of my favorite books, even if I’m running out of space haha 🙂

That’s cool. I thought about purging my physical books and keeping only the signed copies and then moving digitally. Corey talked me out of it, though. He said that since we have the space, I should enjoy having physical books in my library if I want them. 😀
