Top Ten Tuesday #23
Books on my Amazon Wishlist
This week’s prompt seems very strange to me. (I didn’t realize this was a biannual TTT tradition or that it coincided with Giftmas in July when I first wrote this post.)
Sure, I have books on my Amazon wishlist and I don’t expect anyone to buy a book for me. I created my wishlist for my husband and friends so they can get me books I want for my birthday or Christmas. Otherwise, it seems a little bit forward to ask my blog readers to buy me a book for a TTT prompt. Am I being weird about this?
For the sake of participating in the prompt, here are the top ten books on my Amazon wishlist (no link to my wishlist):
What about you? Which books made your list this week? Do we have any in common?
I never use this topic to post a wishlist link or anything as is suggested. I generally just share what is on my tbr or what I’d like to buy next. And around xmas it is always what I asked from my husband haha.
That’s a good idea. I like that approach better than asking people to buy me books. 🙂
I totally agree with you there, Jenni. I wouldn’t think any of my blog readers would want to buy me a book. Especially since most of them are in a different country. Postage would cost more than the book.
I think The Tale of Three Trees was one of the first English books I ever owned. And I used it in our church every year as an Easter read. Such a fantastic book. Hope you’ll get it soon.
Thanks for visiting my TTT this week.
The Book Depository is a great way to buy books for people in different countries. The postage is inexpensive. I use them when I do giveaways. 😀 But, yes, I’m glad I’m not the only one who feels uncomfortable asking for books.
The Tale of Three Trees is a fantastic Easter read. It’s one of my favorite books.
This prompt always feels a little uncomfortable for me too, so I usually just do my own thing when it comes up. You do have some great choices here! I particularly enjoyed Anxious People and the entire Winternight trilogy is one of my all-time favourites!
I’m glad I’m not the only one who feels uncomfortable asking people for books. Anxious People and the Winternight Trilogy are phenomenal. I love them so much! 😀
I am like you, I feel REALLY weird asking people to buy me books. I only do this prompt when I am planning to gift others, which I can’t do this time. That way I don’t feel so bad about it, LOL. This is the third time this prompt has come around, the first time I got no books, and the second time I got 3 (WOW!) and then this time I talked about the library 🙂 I hope you get a wish granted!
I think that’s a good plan. I can’t gift others right now since we’re moving in less than two weeks. I need to save my money as much as possible. Once I’m moved, then I could do some gifts.
I try to not think about it as asking for books – just sharing it and if people want to, awesome, but if not, that’s okay too. I like when people post theirs because I like doing random gift giving for people. 🙂
I’m definitely excited for the 5th HP book – illustrated. They are just beautiful.
That’s a good way of looking at it. I always feel so awkward asking people for books. However, if I looked at it like you did, I might feel better about it. 😀
I’m funny about this topic too. I love to grant bookish wishes for other people but feel weird getting my own granted, haha. The Winternight Trilogy is amazing so I do hope you’re able to read that one soon. 🙂
I’ve actually read the Winternight Trilogy already. I loved it so much that I want a hardcover of each book. 😀
Hopefully next time you’ll feel comfortable sharing a link to your wish list? It’s fun to spread a little book love and gift a book to friends. 🙂
Yeah, maybe. 🙂
Midnight Library and Anxious People are books I really enjoyed! I know, it’s such a weird feeling to post about bookish wishes! haha. I hope you have a lovely day! <3
Thanks, Leslie! I hope you have a lovely day too! I’m glad you enjoyed The Midnight Library and Anxious People. I did as well. I just want my own copy now. 😀
I, too, find it odd to expect blog followers to buy books for me. I also don’t prefer using Amazon to buy books because of how they treat publishers, authors, and libraries. (But that’s my personal stance.)
But I like your choices for your wishlist! I’m curious about The Midnight Library and the Bear and the Nightingale books. 🙂
I’m glad I’m not the only one who feels uncomfortable asking for books. I try to buy books from other stores than Amazon too. I know that my friends find it easier to use Amazon, though, so that’s why I still use it.
I hope you enjoy The Midnight Library and Winternight trilogy as much as I did if you decide to read them. 😀
