Top Ten Tuesday #13
Authors I Haven’t Read but I Want to
This week’s prompt is a fun one. There are so many authors I haven’t read yet and want to. I could probably create a part 2, 3, 4, and 5 to this post. Narrowing down this list was really hard, but I did it. Here are my top ten authors I haven’t read but I want to:
I’ve heard such great things about all of these authors. In a couple of cases, I’m hoping greatness runs in the family (the two Moriartys are Liane Moriarty’s sisters). Either way, I’m really excited to read every one of these authors. Now the real question is which book by each of these authors should I read first? I already know the answer for half of them:
If you’ve read any books by the other five authors, please tell me which book I should read first in the comments.
What about you? Which authors haven’t you read but want to? Do we have any in common?
I hope you enjoy reading all of them!

Thanks, Lydia! 🙂
For Colleen Hoover, you might want to read It Ends With Us first. I thought it was her best book, and the prequel to it will be out later this year. Or you could start with Reminders of Him, which is also excellent!
Thanks for the recommendations, Wendy! 🙂 I really appreciate that!
I’ve only read one book from one of those authors, and it was Colleen Hoover. But based on her huge amount of fans I would say it’s probably a good choice for you.
I’ve seen Colleen Hoover a lot since my return to the blogosphere. That’s why I decided to put her on my list. Plus, I think I’d really like her novels.
I almost put Ruth Ozeki on my list as well! I am determined to read The Book of Form and Emptiness before the summer!
I’ve heard such great things about her books and I love the Japanese culture, so I’m not sure why I haven’t picked up one of her books yet. I hope we both like her. 😀
I have not read any of these but I hope you enjoy them when you do get a chance to read them.
Thanks, Cindy! 😀
Ruth Ozeki, one of my favorites. Her books aren’t easy, simple reads, however.
That’s okay. I look forward to reading her and seeing if we’re compatible, lol. 😀
Oh Ruth Ozeki was great, and her new books on the Women’s Prize Longlist too, I think.
This is my list of new authors I am excited to read soon!
Oh, that’s awesome! I didn’t know that about her new book. 🙂
Im reading my first Ali Hazelwood right now 🙂
How fun! I hope to bet to THE LOVE HYPOTHESIS this month! 😀
I adore both Hoover and Hazelwood. I hope you get to try them soon. You’re going to love them.
I hope I can read Hazelwood this month. 🙂
I liked Alice Oseman’s Radio silence. And I didn’t know Jaclyn Moriarty was Liane Moriarty’s sister- -I just saw that on another post as well.
Thanks for the recommendation. I’ll have to look into that title by Oseman. 🙂
I highly recommend it although it’s been a few years and I should probably re- read it!
I read Mexican Gothic last year, and it was one of my favourite books of the year–I hope you enjoy it!
I’m so glad you loved it. I really hope I do as well. 🙂
I’ve read a couple by Zarr. My favorite of hers is HOW TO SAVE A LIFE. It’s about adoption and I’m an adoptive mom, so I was probably predisposed to like it, but it’s also just a really beautiful novel. I’ve read a few of Zevin’s as well. A.J. FIKRY is a good one, but I also really liked ELSEWHERE. It’s an interesting one. I hope you enjoy all these new-to-you authors!
Thanks for the recommendations. My husband and I were going to adopt, but we never got the chance. I probably would like that book as well.
Ooh, such good choices! I agree with your picks for the first four. The only book I’ve read so far by Ruth Ozeki is one of her early ones (My Year of Meats — it was excellent), and I know I should really read the one on your list too. I really love the Heartstopper graphic novels by Alice Oseman, and I think I’ve read a couple of other good ones by Gabrielle Zevin too. Enjoy!
Thank you for the recommendations for Oseman and Ozeki. I’m glad to hear that my choices for the five authors are good ones. 😀 It’s always nice to be validated.
I need to read an Alice Oseman book too. I want to know what the hype is about!
Yes, exactly. I hadn’t heard anything about her until about two weeks ago and now she’s everywhere I look. The funny thing is that she’s not a new author. I guess bloggers/readers are just talking about her more, maybe.
I haven’t read any of these either! I hope you get to read them and love them. 🙂
Thank you so much! 🙂 Me too!
Heartstopper!!! Alice Oseman’s gay graphic novel series is so good and the Netflix adaptation comes out on Apr 22!
Oh cool! I didn’t know there was a Netflix adaptation happening of her series. Thanks for the recommendation!
I’d definitely recommend The Love Hypothesis! And so many Alice Oseman books are amazing, but with the Heartstopper adaptation coming out later this month, I’d recommend that one as a starter 🙂
Thank you for the recommendations! I hope to get to The Love Hypothesis this month. I don’t think I’ll be able to read Heartstopper before the adaptation comes out, but I’d like to read it. 🙂
Mexican Gothic is awesome~
That’s what I’ve heard. I’m really excited to read it at some point. 🙂
