Sunday News #63

Sunday Post and Sunday Salon are blog news memes hosted at Caffeinated Reviewer and Reader Buzz, respectively. It’s a chance to share news, recap the past week on your blog, and showcase books and other things.
What Happened this Week

I had a bout of the stomach flu last Sunday afternoon until Monday evening. Thankfully, I’m feeling better now.

I got my hair cut on Wednesday and treated myself to a shake at a cute place called The Dolly Llama.

Corey and I went over to my BFF’s for dinner and a movie on Friday. We ate dinner from a local hamburger joint. We were going to watch a movie after the younger two went to bed, but we bagged it because we ended up talking instead.

I forgot to take my meds Friday night and didn’t sleep a wink. I finally realized at 5am on Saturday and took my meds. I ended up taking a couple of small naps and then went to bed at 5pm.

What I Blogged

Here’s what I posted on the blog this week:

What I Read and I’m Reading

I listened to the audiobook for THE NO-SHOW by Beath O’Leary. I adored it and loved the audiobook as well. Yesterday, I finished listening to WHEN I’M DEAD by Hannah Morrissey just before I went to bed. I really liked it. I think it’s my favorite in the Black Harbor series. I’ll be posting my review sometime this week.

I started reading IRON FLAME by Rebecca Yarros on Thursday. I’ll also find another audiobook to listen to this week. I just need to check Libby.

How was your week? Anything exciting happen?

The Dolly Llama! I actually laughed out loud, I love it! 😂 I’m sorry you had the stomach flu but yay that you’re feeling better now. I loved The No-Show too, so glad you enjoyed it!

Right?! I love the name and their decorations are all llama inspired which I absolutely adore! 😀

Thanks! I tend to deal with stomach and intestinal issues fairly often. Luckily, they don’t last too long.

I’m glad you loved THE NO-SHOW too. So good! 😀

I’m a baby for types of sicknesses. I say I hate stomach issues more than respiratory issues, but then I same the thing when I have respiratory issues. Ha! Thanks, though! 😀

I also need to read more books by her. I’ve only read THE FLATSHARE and THE NO-SHOW, but I loved them both.

I’m glad you got over the flu quickly. It’s going around as well as a spike in COVID right now. We are masking and staying home other than medical appts. You are reading some great books though.

Thanks, Anne! 😀 Me too. I’ll have to check the COVID numbers for Utah and see if they’re spiking here as well. It wouldn’t surprise me since so many people here don’t care about spreading things to others.

Yes, I’ve been reading some great books! 😀 July was an awesome month!

Ugh, it sucks to be sick in the summer! Glad it didn’t last any longer though. You had some good books to read it looks like. Hope you continue enjoying them this week. A shake sounds yummy. I wish I had a place with good shakes closer to me. We have a Scooters. I was just thinking this week I wish we had a Smoothie King closer to me though. Have a good week!

It does. Honestly, though, I’d much rather be sick when I don’t have anything going on than when I do. I always feel so overwhelmed trying to make up what I miss.

My reading has been fantastic this last month. I’m so happy with my choices. 😀

I hope you have a great week too!

Thank you, Erin! 😀 I’m glad it didn’t last long either.

I hope you can get your bangs cut soon. I love getting my hair done. I always feel so fresh afterward.

Stomach issues are so debilitating. For me they always work their way into other places, if you get my drift. 😉 You’ve been doing such excellent reading!

Yes, they really are and you have to stay close to a bathroom. It really sucks and yes, I totally get your drift. 😉

I’m really happy with my reading lately. I know it’ll slow down later this month because classes start again, but I’ll be getting in as much as I can until then. 😀

Glad the stomach flu didn’t stay around very long. Glad you are better and sounds like an overall good week. I love getting my hair cut, I always feel like I did something for myself after it is done.

It was an overall good week which I’m grateful for. 😀 I also love getting my hair cut. I feel so fresh afterward.

I’m glad that you are better now. We are gradually running out of things to watch on Netflix of an evening so we may need to resort to films. It will take many days to get a film done as even 20 min episodes of things take a couple of nights alone!

Have a great week this week.

Thanks, Emily! 😀 I get that. It often takes more than one sitting for me to get through a show or movie as well. Good luck finding something to watch!

Thanks, Nicole! 😀 I’m sorry to hear that your husband has the same issues I do sometimes. I know my meds help me, but I wish all the side effects would go away.

I am glad you are feeling better after the stomach flu! One of my goals this week is to go to the salon to get my daughter’s hair cut before the start of school. I could really use a haircut too. I would like to read THE NO-SHOW and am glad to see you liked it! I hope you have a great week, Jenni!
