My Thoughts
I needed something quick to read so I decided to read A MIDSUMMER NIGHT #NOFILTER. It’s basically Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream told in texts with lots of emojis. Let’s just say that I finally understand what this play is about now, but this wasn’t really my thing. I can see how it might be helpful for younger readers in understanding the play more easily.

My Thoughts
I have been a supporter of the Black Lives Movement from the get go. However, reading THE HATE YOU GIVE was a very eye-opening experience. I learned a lot, especially that I’ve lived a very sheltered, safe life. Never has “white privilege” meant more to me than it does now after reading this book.

I ended up really enjoying BY YOUR SIDE. I really connected with Autumn and her anxiety disorder. I loved her story of discovering her limits and what she was okay with. I also loved the slow-burn romance between her and Dax. They had great chemistry and sexual tension.

I was hooked from the moment I started reading FINNIKIN OF THE ROCK. I had a hard time putting the book down. I loved the characters and the world Marchetta created. I wanted to know how it would all go down. My only complaint is that there wasn’t enough kissing, lol. I’m excited to read the sequels at some point.

My Thoughts
I was really worried I wouldn’t like ANNE OF GREEN GABLES because classics and I don’t always get along, but I needn’t have worried. I adored this coming-of-age story and wish I had read it much sooner. I found a kindred spirit in Anne. She reminded me of myself, other than her being ever the optimist. The only thing I take issue with is why did it take the whole book for Anne to forgive Gilbert?! So much lost time! I’m very curious about the sequels and will probably read them eventually.
