My Thoughts
I really enjoyed reading THE UNHONEYMOONERS. In fact, once I started reading, I couldn’t stop. I loved the tension between the Olivia and Ethan. I loved watching them go from mutual dislike of each other to loving each other. It was a fun, often comedic, romantic ride.
Update: When I read THE UNHONEYMOONERS a second time, I listened to the audiobook. I really loved the narration by Cynthia Farrell, but I really disliked the narration by Deacon Lee. Thankfully, he only read the epilogue.

Some of the stories were heartwarming, but for the most part, FUNDAMENTALLY FEMALE was preachy and thought too highly of itself. Thankfully, it was a quick read.

The Hollow City
Author: Dan Wells
Genre: Horror, Mystery, Science Fiction
Format: Kindle
Pages: 336

My Thoughts
I liked the first two thirds of THE HOLLOW CITY a lot. I couldn’t put the book down. It was such an interesting premise and, just like Michael, I wasn’t sure what was real and what wasn’t. But I’m not sure I liked where the book went in the last third. It got a little too sci-fi-y for my taste. I like sci-fi normally but this seemed like it came out of nowhere.
Big Little Lies

My Thoughts
I really enjoyed reading BIG LITTLE LIES. It was very addicting and I had a hard time putting it down. I loved how Moriarty told the story. It actually reminded me of Memento a little bit. I wanted to keep reading so I could figure out what was going on. It was a very hard emotional read and it was a thought-provoking story that deals with hard subjects like abuse, sexual assault, and bullying. At times, it was difficult to keep reading. I really felt for all the characters, especially little Ziggy. I loved that there’s a hopeful feel to the story by the end.
Update: I’m really excited that Moriarty wrote a sequel called BIG LITTLE TRUTHS. I can’t wait to read it. I’ll definitely reread this one first, though.

I really liked the story of BAN THIS BOOK. I think it did a good job of illustrating the importance of not arbitrarily banning / challenging books and that no one has a right to tell you what you’re allowed to read (or what your child is allowed to read) except you. I think everyone should read it, especially parents.
