Top Ten Tuesday #15
Books I Put on my TBR Because the Covers are Purple
This week’s prompt is “Books with [___] on the Cover” and it comes with instructions. They are: Pick a thing (a color, an item, a place, an animal, a scripty font, a sexy person, etc.) and share covers that have that thing on the cover.
I’ll admit I often choose to read books based solely on how much the cover appeals to me. The cover’s the reason I first pick up the book to read the synopsis, getting the author’s foot in the door, so to speak.
Here are my top ten books I’m looking forward to reading (or I put on my TBR) because they have purple covers:
A couple of these books have been on my TBR for more than a decade. I’ll get to them someday … I hope, lol. Too many books, not enough time. Am I right? If you’ve read any of these books, please tell me which one I should read first in the comments.
I also want to share three books with purple covers I’ve already read and adored. They are:
I’m a sucker for purple and a gorgeous cover.
What about you? Which books with [___] on the cover are on your list this week?
I love it!
Thanks! 😀
These are pretty covers! I’ve only read The Truth About Alice and The Dark Divine. I gave 4 stars to both. I added Horror Hotel and Lost and Found in Paris to my TBR!
Thanks. 🙂 I’m glad to hear you liked The Truth About Alice so much. I hope we both like Horror Hotel and Lost and Found in Paris.
To be honest, I never look much at covers, but turn immediately to the synopsis on the inside cover to see if it intrigues me. Then I read the first couple pages of the book to try to gauge the level of writing. It’s strange because I’m a very visual person so you would think that I would pay more attention to the artwork. I have loved many quotes from “Odd Thomas” but never read it. Perhaps I should!
I used to not care about covers when they were ugly and had nothing really to do with the book, lol. But, when I started reading YA about 14 years ago, I started paying attention to the covers and really fell in love with them. I know a lot of the covers still have nothing to do with the book, but at least they’re pretty now.
You totally should read Odd Thomas. I know I should as well. I even already own the first novel in the series.
I haven’t read any of these, but I love the gorgeous covers and how awesome they all look together. Great list!
Thank you! I love how they all look together too. 😀
I love purple covers too, I did a post of them a few years back but we actually only have one crossover which is Amanda Foody’s Daughter of The Burning City, just shows that there are a lot of purple covers out there!

Oh, that’s cool. I’ll have to go to your blog and search for them. I’m curious which books you had on that list, 🙂
Oh my goodness–these are all so pretty! Great topic choice! I see a few that I know, too. 🙂
Thanks, Christine! 💜
I love purple too so these book covers REALLY appeal.
Don’t they, though? They’re all so inviting! 😀
Purple? And about Paris? Well, that’s enough for me to look for Lost and Found in Paris, I think.
I hope you like it if you do read it. I hope I like it when I read it, lol.
I had a feeling you’d choose purple covers. Ha!
Nice choices!
Thanks! 🙂
Such lovely covers! I love the different shades of purple. I’ve only read one of the books from your list and did not care for it, sadly. I do want to read several of the others though and have them on my TBR.
That’s okay that you didn’t like the book you read. It’s happens, right? We can’t love them all. 🙂
