Top Ten Tuesday #7
Books I Enjoyed But Have Never Mentioned on My Blog
This week’s prompt is interesting! Do I go with books I’ve never mentioned on my blog since 2007 or since I started it up again in January? Hmmm. What to do, what to do. I’m going to go with books I haven’t mentioned on my blog since January. Here are my top ten books:
All ten of these books have something else in common besides me enjoying them and not having mentioned them on my blog before January. They were all written by authors from my home state–Utah. Utah has an awesome literary community. We always say there must be something in the water because a lot of authors get published from here. Some of our bigger named authors are Brandon Sanderson, Shannon Hale, and Ally Condie. They’re awesome people too. I feel fortunate to live near so many authors.
What about you? Which books have you enjoyed but never mentioned on your blog? Do we have any in common?
That’s interesting! Not only are these books you haven’t talked about on your blog since January but all the authors are from Utah!
Yep. I love to promote our local authors. 🙂
Summerlost looks good!

It’s really good. Ally Condie has a beautiful way with words. I highly recommend it. It’s my favorite of her books. 🙂
I haven’t read any of these but now I am wondering if you’ve actually met all these authors since they, according to Deb Nance, are all from your state. Let me know, I’m terribly curious.
I have met all of these authors. I’ve also met many more. Utah is awesome when it comes to meeting authors. 🙂
SO MANY awesome books! Great take on today’s topic. I need to get my act together and write a post. I’m always so behind. I have a ton of books I’ve realized that I read before blogging (2007 like you!) that I’ve never reviewed. They are mentioned in lists and stuff. But… not their own posts. That is so sad!
Thanks! I knew if anyone loved how I did this week’s prompt, you would. 😀 I understand about being behind, except I’m perpetually behind with homework, lol. I’m excited to read your post, though, once you get it done.
There really are a lot of wonderful authors from Utah! I’ve read at least one book by Despain, Condie, and Nielsen. I also like the Mistborn series by Brandon Sanderson, although I’m behind in it since he added more books. I’ll catch up someday…
Happy TTT!

You’re more ahead than I am with Sanderson’s Mistborn series. One of my good friends has been trying to get me to read it for over a decade, lol. I want to. I just haven’t taken the time. Too many books to choose from. Ha!
I haven’t read any of those books but those covers look amazing!
I agree. I love a lot of these covers. 🙂
The Ascendance Trilogy is one of my favorite series.
It’s so good, isn’t it? 🙂
I like your list. I think I would enjoy Ally Condie and possibly Not in the Script. Thanks for sharing!
I actually think you would too now that I’ve gotten to know you a little bit. 🙂
Nice. I like several of Shannon Hale’s books!
Shannon Hale’s awesome. My favorite book of hers that I’ve read is The Actor and the Housewife. 😀
I love your list and want to add almost all of these books to my TBR. Especially Shutter, Defy and Burning Glass.

Thanks! I’m glad you do. I hope you like Shutter, Defy, and Burning Glass if you read them. 🙂
That’s great that you’re shouting out authors from your home state! I’ve heard of Allie Condie but never read her books. And the cover for Shutter, oh no, not for me– that’s so creepy!
Thanks! 🙂 Ally Condie has a beautiful way with words. I highly recommend her, especially Summerlost. And, yeah, Shutter is a littler creepy, but I loved it. It’s not for everyone, though, and that’s okay. 😀
I have a lot of books that I’ve read but don’t mention.
I’ve tried to have more *just for me* books to counter the reading/blogging burnout that almost had me quitting it all.
They are mostly romances because it’s just fun, escapism for me & I don’t want to dwell or dissect it after.

I get that. Reading/blogging burnout is real and if that helps you avoid it, then keep doing it! 🙂 I haven’t hit reading/blogging burnout since I started blogging again in January. That’s a good thing, lol. Hopefully, with my new skills, I can power through when it does hit. 😀
