My Thoughts

I thought the way THE FAMILY UPSTAIRS was written weirdly at first but it grew on me. I’ve never experienced only 1/3 of an unreliable narrator before and I didn’t realize it was happening until near the end. Coupled with that dark twisty ending, I’m glad I stuck it out.

My Thoughts

I really enjoyed the suspense and wanted to know how AN ANONYMOUS GIRL would come together in the end. I wanted more romance. The ending was also a bit of a letdown but it was still satisfying. The story is pretty unrealistic for anyone who has been in therapy before, but it was still fun to read.

My Thoughts

ONE OF US IS LYING kept me interested while reading it. I really wanted to figure out what was going on and I liked the characters and the relationships, especially Bronwyn and Nate’s. However, I didn’t like the turn the story took in terms of the mystery because I felt like it glorified suicide and mass shootings.

My Thoughts

I really enjoyed reading BIG LITTLE LIES. It was very addicting and I had a hard time putting it down. I loved how Moriarty told the story. It actually reminded me of Memento a little bit. I wanted to keep reading so I could figure out what was going on. It was a very hard emotional read and it was a thought-provoking story that deals with hard subjects like abuse, sexual assault, and bullying. At times, it was difficult to keep reading. I really felt for all the characters, especially little Ziggy. I loved that there’s a hopeful feel to the story by the end.

Update: I’m really excited that Moriarty wrote a sequel called BIG LITTLE TRUTHS. I can’t wait to read it. I’ll definitely reread this one first, though.

My Thoughts

I really enjoyed reading THE MARRIAGE PACT even though it was very over-the-top. Each time I put it down, I wanted to pick it up again so I could find out what happened. It made me glad The Pact doesn’t exist in real life. Or, does it? *dun dun dun*

I really enjoyed the setting of the bay area, especially since I just traveled there last month. It was fun visualizing all the places they talked about in the novel. And, I really liked Jake and Alice. I rooted for them from the get go.
