Title: People We Meet on Vacation I really loved this friends-to-lovers romance. PEOPLE WE MEET ON VACATION was super cute, emotional, sensual, and just a lot of fun to read. I related to both Poppy and Alex on a deep level. This is my second Emily Henry book and I’ve loved both. I look forward to reading more books written by her.
Title: Divine Rivals Gah! I’m glad I chose to read DIVINE RIVALS after RUTHLESS VOWS was published. I need to read the rest of this story now!
DIVINE RIVALS was such a compelling read. I loved the premise so much. It felt very You’ve Got Mail that takes place during a war between Hades and Persephone but from the human perspective. I loved gradually learning about Enva and Dacre through the myths Iris and Roman shared with each other. Speaking of Iris and Roman, I loved them so much. The chemistry between them was fantastic and I especially loved their banter.
Title: Love on the Brain I really liked LOVE ON THE BRAIN. It was so much fun and it got me in the mood to read again. I went into this thinking it was an enemies-to-lovers romance, which is one of my favorite tropes, but this was more of a blind-to-reality-to-lovers story. Despite the fact that Bee, a Ph.D. neuroscientist, was a little dense in figuring out that Levi didn’t hate her but loved her, I still enjoyed this You’ve Got Mail-esque story. I loved the chemistry between Bee and Levi. I loved their banter and humor once all the miscommunication issues got cleared up. I also loved Schrödinger and Félicette (their cats). They endeared me to the main characters and story more.
Title: The Last Thing He Told Me I really liked THE LAST THING HE TOLD ME. It kept me on the edge of my seat. I feel like I went through the gambit of emotions just like Hannah. I guessed some of the reasons behind why things happened, but I thought the story was still engrossing. I thought the ending was bittersweet and, honestly, I feel like if Laura Dave wanted to write a sequel, she could. I personally think the author ended the story in the perfect place, though.
Title: Sign Here SIGN HERE was different than I thought it would be. I didn’t love it, but I enjoyed the premise. I thought some aspects of it were funny while other aspects were frustrating. I thought there were way too many POVs, but I understood why they were needed. I liked the ending more than I thought I would because it made me think about life, its ups and downs, loneliness, neglect, and love.
