My Thoughts
I’m really glad I decided to read VIRALS. It was quite enjoyable. The mystery was fun and I liked the sci-fi element added to the series. I liked the characters–they were fun and believable. I only wished there was more romance.
I’ve never read a book written by two different authors (that I know of anyway). I was curious if the story would flow right or if I could tell when the authors switched. I was pleasantly surprised that there was no disconnection between their writing. The story and novel felt fluid and written by one person, which helped keep me in the story.
At this point, I’m looking forward to reading the rest of the series.

My Thoughts
I thought SKY ON FIRE was a great addition to MONUMENT 14. I’m pleased with how story progressed, but I liked the first book better. I’m also not sure if I’ll read the third book when it comes out because I felt like this one ended in a good place. I’m not sure where else the story can go from here.
The Night Circus
Author: Erin Morgenstern
Genre: Fantasy, Romance

Format: Hard Cover
Pages: 387

My Thoughts
Wow. THE NIGHT CIRCUS was beautifully written and magical. Morgenstern had a way of transporting me to the circus and feeling what the characters felt. While it wasn’t fast-paced, it was very intense and I wanted to read it as quickly as I could so I’d know what happened. And, at the same time, I wanted to take it slow, so I could enjoy it and savor it.

My Thoughts
I really liked Laybourne’s take on the apocalypse. I liked that MONUMENT 14 was all natural disaster related and seemed like it could actually happen, even though the ramifications would be really scary and I wouldn’t want to live during it.
Ella Enchanted

My Thoughts
Unfortunately, when Ella’s mom passed away in the beginning of the story, it made reading ELLA ENCHANTED a little hard for me since my mom passed away only two and a half weeks ago. I almost put the book down, but I decided to continue reading. I’m glad I stuck it out, though, because I ended up really liking the story. I didn’t realize it was a retelling of Cinderella. I loved discovering that and I especially loved this take on the classic fairytale. It was so interesting to see how it all played out, how it was the same, and how it was different. I loved both Ella and Char. I also loved their relationship. It made for a fun story.
