My Thoughts

I thought THE NIGHT SWIM was an interesting look at the United States justice system in regard to sexual assault cases. The story felt very real, and the characters and situations seemed believable. I also thought the connection between the current case and the 25-year-old cold case was interesting.

Even though the book is billed as a thriller, I thought it was more of a mystery as I didn’t get that edge-of-my-seat feeling like I do with thrillers. I wanted to keep reading. I needed to know if the perpetrators were convicted and the victims received justice.

My Thoughts

I read the STEMinist Novellas out of order and started with the third one first. Thankfully, you can read these in any order.

I loved BELOW ZERO and I was worried I wouldn’t enjoy UNDER ONE ROOF as much, but I did. I loved both Liam and Mara. I loved the forced proximity trope, their chemistry, and banter. It was a fun read. I still want more! (This is why I don’t read short stories very often.)

My Thoughts

I want more! I loved Hannah and Ian, and their story. I loved the setting and the idea of him rescuing her. I wish there was more to their story and relationship. Since this was a short story, Hazelwood did a great job of sharing the most important parts.

Also, I didn’t realize BELOW ZERO was the third book in a novella series until after I read it. Hopefully, they can be read out of order.

My Thoughts

Despite being disappointed that THE MEMO isn’t a romance (the audiobook was categorized improperly at my library), I thought this story and the execution were interesting. I also like the hopeful and open ending. The story reminded me of THE MIDNIGHT LIBRARY, just much less profound.

My Thoughts

I really enjoyed A KILLING COLD. It was suspenseful and the cast of characters made for an intriguing tale.

I loved the setting and the unraveling of the story one thread at a time. The ending was a bit disappointing because I needed more comeuppance but it didn’t ruin the book for me.
