Sunday News #52

Sunday Post and Sunday Salon are blog news memes hosted at Caffeinated Reviewer and Reader Buzz, respectively. It’s a chance to share news, recap the past week on your blog, and showcase books and other things.
Feeling

I’m feeling excited. I signed up for a 15-week writing workshop that starts on Tuesday. I hope it’s a good one and I like the teacher and projects.

Blogging

Here’s what I posted on the blog this week:

Reading

I actually finished reading REMARKABLY BRIGHT CREATURES by Shelby Van Pelt on Monday instead of Sunday. I started BOOK LOVERS by Emily Henry yesterday.

I’ve had a lot of time to listen to THE BALLAD OF SONGBIRDS AND SNAKES audiobook this week and I’ve made quite a bit of progress on it.

Listening

I’ve been listening to “I Want to Know What Love Is” this week, not by choice. Don’t get me wrong. I really like the song. It’s just been playing in my head on a non-stop loop. I can’t seem to shake it no matter what I do.

Watching

Corey and I started watching Hulu’s new DEATH AND OTHER DETAILS with Mandy Patinkin and Violett Beane. So far, we really like it. I can’t wait for a new episode tomorrow night.

I started watching the new season of Kids Baking Championship on Discovery+. It’s one of my yearly favorites. As of now, I don’t have a favorite kid.

Loving

I love my book club. We had a really great discussion surrounding REMARKABLY BRIGHT CREATURES. I’ll be posting a spoiler-free recap of our discussion tomorrow.

Wanting

I want some Ghirardelli peppermint bark it’s seasonal and no longer available. #firstworldproblems

Needing

I need to go grocery shopping this week. It’s been a while and we’re running low on food. I don’t know why Corey and I wait so long between shopping runs, lol.

How was your week? Anything exciting happen?

I enjoyed Book Lovers. Hope you do, too. I hate it when I get a song stuck in my head! I also hate grocery shopping, but lucky for me my husband likes it and so he goes! Score! I want to watch Death and Other Details, but I’ll probably wait until all the episodes are out. Glad to hear you’re liking it!

Thanks, Rachel! 😀 So far, I like it. It sounds like it will be fun. I hope you enjoy Death and Other Details when you do watch. I hope it keeps on being good, lol.

I still want to read “Remarkably Bright Creatures” and would love to see that show, except that I don’t have Hulu. It’s so frustrating when so much that I want to watch would mean adding another streaming service. Ugh.

I know what you mean about the streaming services. I wish, like with cable, there was one major service we could join and have access to everything we wanted. I’d pay the same or even a little more than what we paid for cable. I bet they’d have a lot more subscribers too because people wouldn’t have to pick and choose which services they like the best.

Good luck with the writing workshop. I’m excited for you.

I need to grocery shop next weekend and I’m not looking forward to it.

The writing workshop sounds great. Hope you find it helpful and worthwhile. Getting attached to seasonal products is a lesson in heartbreak. lol I love the Canada Dry cranberry ginger ale and can only find it around the holidays. I miss it already!

Thanks, Tanya! 😀 If I can find my writing voice and learn to let go of my rigidity in writing, I’ll consider it a success.

I know some many people who love the Canada Dry cranberry ginger ale. They think it’s better than the original. I don’t know why they just don’t make it available year around.

I hope you let us know how the writing things goes and what they have you do. Sounds so fun. Hopefully I’ll get going on the writing again this year. It’s such a struggle. Also, I have to read Happy Place first before Book Lovers because it finally became available on my kindle!

I will. I talked to the teacher and she’s okay with me starting next week since I was sick this week. 😀 You’ll have to let us know how HAPPY PLACE is. 😀

I hope you enjoy your writing class! It sounds like a fun idea. How you are finding BOOK LOVERS so far? I have that one on my TBR pile. Who could resist that title? II hope you are able to shake the earworm. I get songs stuck in my head like that too. And sometimes it takes another earworm song to get it out. LOL I hope you have a great week!

Thank you so much! 😀 I wasn’t able to go to the writing class this week because I’ve been sick. I’ll go next week, though.

So far, I really like BOOK LOVERS. I like the sexual tension and banter between the two main characters. 😀
