Top Ten Tuesday #27

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.
Book I Wish I Could Read Again for the First Time

I totally spaced that today’s Tuesday so I’m posting this a little late. Better late than never, right?

This week’s prompt is a freebie and I’ve decided to go with a topic that I missed participating in. The prompt I chose is “Books I Wish I Could Read Again for the First Time.” Here are my top ten books:

I absolutely adore all of these books. I loved the feeling of wonder, excitement, and anticipation that I felt when I read them the first time. I’ve reread all of them except two and there’s still a sense of excitement and anticipation, and it’s not as strong as when I read them the first time. I’ll still reread them, though, because I love the stories and the characters.

What about you? What books do you wish you could read again for the first time? Do we have any in common?

I learned in DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy) that life is full of dialectics, or two opposing truths. In this case, the two opposing truths are: 1) I don’t agree with JKR’s stance regarding trans people, and 2) I still love Harry Potter.

I agree with many of your choices, especially Hunger Games and Harry Potter. I’d like to read again for the first time: A Tale for the Time Being; The One in a Million Boy; Hamnet; and Looking for Alaska.

I haven’t read A TALE FOR TIME BEING, THE ONE IN A MILLION BOY, HAMNET, or LOOKING FOR ALASKA yet. I’d really like to, especially A TALE FOR THE TIME BEING. 😀 I’m glad they’re good enough to be on this list for you.

Love your choices, Anne! You know how much I love “Tale for the Time Being” and “The One in a Million Boy.” I still get choked up even thinking about them.

LOL. That’s so true about books I haven’t read in years and only read once. The problem is at some time during the reading, I start to remember details about the story that I didn’t remember before. Oh well. 😉

The Hunger Games was awesome when I finally got around to reading it! I’d been blogging several years before I finally did.

I really is such an awesome story. I love all three books immensely. I also love the movies, so I can enjoy them visually or through the written word. 😀

What a fun choice for this week’s TTT! I would love to be able to read The Night Circus and all the Harry Potter books again for the first time. 😀

Lol. I’m glad I made good choices! 😀 And, yes, I’m very glad we can reread books we love and remember why we love them so much when we reread them.

I agree 100% on HP, Hunger Games, Cinder, City of Bones and Graceling. I enjoyed Night Circus too although it doesn’t rate as high for me and have never read Twilight.

I understand about THE NIGHT CIRCUS. I know it’s not for everyone. 😀 And, for that matter, neither is TWILIGHT. If you ever do read it, I hope you like it. It’s okay if you don’t, though. 😀

What an interesting topic! There’s so many books I wish I could read again for the first time – but especially The Bear and the Nightingale and Graceling – those were so creative and different.

Yes! This is a great topic. A lot of your choices are ones I would pick as well since I don’t really remember reading them the first time, but 100% I wish I could read The Night Circus for the first time again. I haven’t reread it yet but the ending annoys me so I know that will affect how I feel as I reread it. 🙂

Thanks, Jaime! 😀 I don’t remember the ending of The Night Circus very well, but I know I was okay with it because I wouldn’t have given it five stars if I didn’t. LOL.
