Sunday News #62

Sunday Post and Sunday Salon are blog news memes hosted at Caffeinated Reviewer and Reader Buzz, respectively. It’s a chance to share news, recap the past week on your blog, and showcase books and other things.
What Happened this Week

I went out to lunch with my BFF on Wednesday. Afterward, we crafted while watching a movie. We’re trying to get together and do this at least once a week.

On Thursday, Corey and I saw the new DEADPOOL & WOLVERINE movie. It was amazing! I especially loved all the cameos. I can’t wait to see it again.

Corey and I also went over to my BFF’s on Friday for dinner and a movie. We had homemade French dip sandwiches and au jus. We watched THE FALL GUY because my BFF and her oldest daughter hadn’t seen it yet.

What I Blogged

Here’s what I posted on the blog this week:

What I Read and I’m Reading

I finished listening to the audiobook for THE WIDOWMAKER by Hannah Morrissey on Friday and reading THE UNWEDDING by Ally Condie last night. I’ll be posting my reviews tomorrow and Wednesday, respectively.

I started listening to the audiobook for THE NO-SHOW by Beth O’Leary on Friday night and I’m going to start reading WHEN I’M DEAD by Hannah Morrissey this week.

How was your week? Anything exciting happen?

I love crafting with my BFF. It’s really fun just to hang out doing something creative. I also love THE FALL GUY. It was fun to watch it again. 😀

I love French dip sandwiches too. I really enjoy the handmade ones, but I think we need to use softer bread and more meat. I really love the ones from Arby’s. 😀 Sorry your dinner was disappointing. At least you know for next time.

I love what you’re doing with your BFF and am encouraging my younger daughter to set up friend dates. She’s let her friendships lapse and not put enough effort into them due to over focusing on boyfriends. (the last two of them icky) John and I are going to a film Monday but being old people, we’ll see “Thelma.” 🙂

I hope she heeds your encouragement. I definitely wouldn’t be in a good state emotionally if I didn’t spend time with my BFF and other friends. 😀 I hope you enjoy THELMA.

I’m only about 10% of the way through THE NO-SHOW and I think I’ll love it. If you read it too, I hope you like it.

That’s awesome that your friend likes craft days. I wish I could find more crafters where I am, but I do love having them with my BFF.

Serving French Dip sandwiches for dinner sounds really good. I wonder if Trader Joe’s roast beef would be ok, or if one needs to actually cook the roast, slice it, and create the juice to dip into.

We just use the roast beef from Trader Joe’s. I’d like more meat on mine, but it’s still really good. 😀 Cooking a roast sounds like it would be fantastic for homemade French dip. I’d definitely give it a go.

Wow. Do many good books. I need to hop over to read your review of FOURTH WING. My daughter bought it on my Audible account and thinks I will like it. But she calls it Romantasy. I’m not sure if that is the genre for me.

      Jenni Elyse says:

Yes, I’ve been reading up a storm. I’m making up for my lack of reading in March and April. 😀 FOURTH WING is definitely a romantasy. You can skip the explicit scenes if you don’t like to read that sort of thing. The rest of the story is amazing and definitely worth a read if you like fantasy. 😀

I’m excited. I loved THE FLATSHARE and have been wanting to read more of O’Leary’s books. I really hope I love THE NO-SHOW. So far I do. 😀
