Sunday News #62
What Happened this Week
I went out to lunch with my BFF on Wednesday. Afterward, we crafted while watching a movie. We’re trying to get together and do this at least once a week.
On Thursday, Corey and I saw the new DEADPOOL & WOLVERINE movie. It was amazing! I especially loved all the cameos. I can’t wait to see it again.
Corey and I also went over to my BFF’s on Friday for dinner and a movie. We had homemade French dip sandwiches and au jus. We watched THE FALL GUY because my BFF and her oldest daughter hadn’t seen it yet.
What I Blogged
Here’s what I posted on the blog this week:
What I Read and I’m Reading
I finished listening to the audiobook for THE WIDOWMAKER by Hannah Morrissey on Friday and reading THE UNWEDDING by Ally Condie last night. I’ll be posting my reviews tomorrow and Wednesday, respectively.
I started listening to the audiobook for THE NO-SHOW by Beth O’Leary on Friday night and I’m going to start reading WHEN I’M DEAD by Hannah Morrissey this week.
How was your week? Anything exciting happen?
Ooh, I’ll have to check out your Fourth Wing review. I’ve been very curious about that one!
Thanks for taking a look and commenting! 😀
Crafting days with a friend sound really fun. And I loved The Fall Guy. Lol.
I love crafting with my BFF. It’s really fun just to hang out doing something creative. I also love THE FALL GUY. It was fun to watch it again. 😀
Sounds like a good week! And french dip sandwiches sound so good!
It definitely was a good week and the French dip sandwiches were amazing! 😀
Glad you enjoyed Fourth Wing. I am curious about the Widowmaker. Have a great week.
Thanks, Kimberly! 😀 If you end up reading THE WIDOWMAKER, I hope you enjoy it.
French Dip sandwiches are my favorite! In fact I’m mad at myself for not getting that Friday night when I had dinner at my brother’s. We ordered Door Dash from a local restaurant and I just got chicken strips, and then when he got French Dip I wished I’d gotten that instead. Sounds like you had a good week.

I love French dip sandwiches too. I really enjoy the handmade ones, but I think we need to use softer bread and more meat. I really love the ones from Arby’s. 😀 Sorry your dinner was disappointing. At least you know for next time.
I love what you’re doing with your BFF and am encouraging my younger daughter to set up friend dates. She’s let her friendships lapse and not put enough effort into them due to over focusing on boyfriends. (the last two of them icky) John and I are going to a film Monday but being old people, we’ll see “Thelma.” 🙂
I hope she heeds your encouragement. I definitely wouldn’t be in a good state emotionally if I didn’t spend time with my BFF and other friends. 😀 I hope you enjoy THELMA.
Yay for time with your BFF! Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
Thanks, Cindy! 😀 I hope you have a great rest of your weekend as well!
Dinner and a movie sounds like a great thing to do on a regular basis.
Great looking books. I hope that you are enjoying them all.
Have a lovely week ahead!
I really enjoy the dinner and movie nights we have and the craft days. It’s fun to do something we both like doing together. 😀
I haven’t read The No-Show. I need to look for that one!
Crafting is so much fun. I have a friend who is an amazing crafter and she loves to have craft days.
I’m only about 10% of the way through THE NO-SHOW and I think I’ll love it. If you read it too, I hope you like it.
That’s awesome that your friend likes craft days. I wish I could find more crafters where I am, but I do love having them with my BFF.
Sounds like you had a great week. Your books look good. I want to add The No-Show to my TBR. Looks great. Hope you have a great week!
Thanks, Yvonne! 😀 I really enjoyed the books I read and am reading. If you do end up reading THE NO-SHOW, I hope you like it. 😀
Serving French Dip sandwiches for dinner sounds really good. I wonder if Trader Joe’s roast beef would be ok, or if one needs to actually cook the roast, slice it, and create the juice to dip into.
best, mae at maefood.blogspot.com
We just use the roast beef from Trader Joe’s. I’d like more meat on mine, but it’s still really good. 😀 Cooking a roast sounds like it would be fantastic for homemade French dip. I’d definitely give it a go.
I’m glad you had such a great week Jenni! I hope next week treats you just as well.
Thanks, Jodie! 😀 I hope you have a great week too!
Wow. Do many good books. I need to hop over to read your review of FOURTH WING. My daughter bought it on my Audible account and thinks I will like it. But she calls it Romantasy. I’m not sure if that is the genre for me.
Yes, I’ve been reading up a storm. I’m making up for my lack of reading in March and April. 😀 FOURTH WING is definitely a romantasy. You can skip the explicit scenes if you don’t like to read that sort of thing. The rest of the story is amazing and definitely worth a read if you like fantasy. 😀
I wasn’t sure about The No-Show at first, but she really turns it around. She’s definitely an auto-buy author for me now.
I’m excited. I loved THE FLATSHARE and have been wanting to read more of O’Leary’s books. I really hope I love THE NO-SHOW. So far I do. 😀
French dip sandwiches sound so good right now. I hope you’re having a great week!
Thanks, AJ! 😀 Yes, I always love French dip sandwiches. So tasty.
