Top Ten Tuesday #25

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.
Most Anticipated Books Releasing in the Second Half of 2022

Another prompt that’s hard for me because I don’t really pay attention to release dates unless they’re books I’m REALLY looking forward to. With that being said, here are ten six books I’m looking forward to releasing later this year:

What about you? Which books are you anticipating later this year? Do we have any in common?

I learned in DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy) that life is full of dialectics, or two opposing truths. In this case, the two opposing truths are: 1) I don’t agree with JKR’s stance regarding trans people, and 2) I still love Harry Potter.

We can like a book or books by an author or a piece of music or an actor without liking the person behind it. Sometimes it taunts their writing, and then we just don’t like them. I’m glad you still enjoy her books. I’m not a big fan of fantasy, so I couldn’t say whether it’s the fantasy aspect of her books or her view entirely. I don’t get people who are anti-LGBTQ. What’s their problem?

    My TTT this week.

I also don’t get people who are anti-LGBTQ+. I used to struggle with my feelings because of growing up in a very conservative religious family. I’m glad I’ve finally embraced how I feel instead of what I was taught all my life.

I grew up at a time when homosexuality was still forbidden by the law. But, luckily, a lot of people learned that that was wrong and it was changed. It is impossible to know what those people had to endure at the time but I’m glad that has changed. And I always say, they don’t take anything away from us. We can live the way we feel, why shouldn’t they. It must be so hard still having to encounter these people who just don’t get it.

I agree completely. My religion still fights tooth and nail against gay marriage and says it’s in the name of religious freedom. I don’t understand why because by having gay people marry, it’s not affecting the straight marriages in our religion. It’s not going to either. The only way it would affect it is if one person in a straight marriage is closeted and decides to come out. And, frankly, I’d rather the gay person not live a lie than trying to fit in. I have a lot of strong feelings about it.

The first one was fantastic. 😀 I’m really looking forward to this second book. I wish I didn’t have to wait so long between each one because I’d love to have this one and the last one right now, lol.

I had to do a lot of research for my list as I don’t keep very uptodate with these things.

I need to read that series of Cassandra Clare! I loved The Infernal Devises and The Immortal Instruments! I also like the look of the illustrated Harry Potter books.

    Have a great week!

Lol. I should’ve done more research so I could get a full ten books for my list, but I’ve been so busy with the sell of our place, trying to find a new place, and packing/moving.

I also haven’t read this new trilogy yet of Cassie’s. I’m very excited about it as I loved both The Infernal Devices and The Mortal Instruments. 😀 Hopefully, we both love this trilogy just as much! 😀

I love the Lady Janies’ books. That’s too bad that they’re not published there in the UK. 😕 Hopefully, you can still get a copy, maybe through The Book Depository or something.

Is that the illustrated Harry Potter? Man, those books are so gorgeous! (I also agree with the concept of dialectics. For me, Harry Potter is full of nostalgia, especially involving people who I dearly loved and have since passed away, which is completely removed from the author herself.) I also really need to start the Mary series! It looks like it’s going to be so good.

    Here’s my TTT post.

It is the illustrated Harry Potter. I’m very excited about this one. I loved the previous four’s artwork. Yes, I agree about Harry Potter being full of nostalgia. 😀

    Greg says:

I don’t pay attention to when books come out much either, mainly because I’m always so behind. Ha! I always see this one or whatever coming out, and by the time I get to it it’s been out for weeks or month. Anyway, these all look really good. I’ve said it before but dang if cassandra Clare’s covers aren’t always beautiful!

    • Jenni Elyse
      Jenni Elyse says:

Lol. I know how you feel except by the time I get to newly released books, it’s usually a year or two later. Ha! And, I do agree that Cassie’s covers are beautiful. They’re some of my favorites.

      Jenni Elyse says:

I haven’t started this new trilogy either. I’m actually behind a bit. I still need to read The Dark Artifices. Oy. I’d rather have too many books to read than not enough, though. 😀

  5. Margaret
    Margaret says:

I’ve read Cashore and Clare and enjoyed them although I haven’t been able to keep up with their prolific works. I’m very much looking forward to the last installment of Phillip Pullman’s trilogy of Dust.

    • Jenni Elyse
      Jenni Elyse says:

I also can’t keep up them. Once this new Clare books is released, I’ll be six books behind, lol. And, after Cashore’s book releases, I’ll be two books behind. Oh well. I’d rather have too many books to read than not enough. 😀

I loved His Dark Materials, but I haven’t read the Dust trilogy yet. I should really read it.

Thank you, Cindy! 😀 The packing is going well. We got our lease contract for our new place today and will start moving in on Thursday. Yay!

Great list! I’m excited about Chain of Thorns even if it means I have to reread the previous two books. And I didn’t realize the Graceling series had a new book coming out – looks like I need to stop dragging my feet with that series. Thanks for the heads up!

    • Jenni Elyse
      Jenni Elyse says:

I actually haven’t read the other new books in the Graceling series either. I’ve only read the original three, but I love them so much. I’m excited to see where the series goes from here. 😀

I haven’t started this trilogy of Cassie’s yet. I actually haven’t even started The Dark Artifices. I’ve only read The Mortal Instruments and The Infernal Devices. I love her books, though, so I know I’ll love these two new trilogies. 😀
