My Thoughts

I really enjoyed RINGS OF FATE. I thought it was a fun romantasy. I loved the magic system and the settings of the four kingdoms on the verge of war. I really liked Aren and Dietan, their banter, and sexual tension. The slow-burn romance was satisfying to read. I’m excited to see what happens in the next installment. Fortunately, this one ended in a way that I don’t feel like I’m going to die waiting for the next book. I didn’t mind the audiobook, but I didn’t really like the male narrator very much (too gravelly).

My Thoughts

A SONG TO DROWN RIVERS is a story that’ll stay will me for a long time. It’s a beautifully tragic story about love, loss, betrayal, politics, and war. I’ve loved Asian folktales since I was a child and this one did not disappoint. Xishi, Fanli, Zhengdan, and Fanli’s friend (I don’t know how to spell his name since I listened to the audiobook and I can’t find it on Google). The ending felt a bit rushed and the end end reminded me of the movie Eternity. It made me wonder if it was really hopeful or actually more tragic. So much to think about.

My Thoughts

WE WHO WILL DIE was such a fun intense story. I loved the world-building and magic system. I thought the Gladiator feel of the story was a fun idea. I really liked Arvelle, her brothers, Tiernon, Rorrik, Leon, and Maeva. I’m very curious to see if this will turn into a Vampire Diaries situation. Right now, I’m very happy with Arvelle and Tiernon together, but I think I could be happy if she were with Rorrik instead.

My Thoughts

I absolutely loved reading THE INVISIBLE LIFE OF ADDIE LARUE. It was such a fun, unique story. I adored the characters, setting, and history. I loved being a part of Addie’s story. I especially loved the cat-and-mouse game between her and Luc. I thought their relationship was intriguing and delicious. I also loved her relationship with Henry and wished they could’ve had more time together. I felt for and related to Henry the most. I understood why he felt the way he did and made the decisions he did. I’m glad he found Addie and that she could help him in the end. I also enjoyed the bittersweet ambiguous ending. It felt right for this type of story.

My Thoughts

This book! That ending! So many secrets, so many twists. I loved it! Even though I loved the audiobook, I kinda wish I had read-read THE ROAD OF BONES so I could see all the Nordic/Icelandic spellings. I loved the whole Vikingness of the story and I loved the subtle nod to Little Red Riding Hood. The characters, the world, and the magic system were amazing. The slow-burn romance was so much fun. I didn’t even mind the subtle love triangle. I’m really excited to read KINGDOM OF CLAW and see where this story goes.
