Top Ten Tuesday #24

Books on My Summer 2022 TBR
This week’s prompt is hard for me because I’m a mood reader. I might plan to read specific books because either they fit a challenge, they’re for book club, or I just want to read them. The problem is if I’m not in the mood, there’s no amount of obligation that can force me to read a book. With that being said, here are ten books I’d like to read this spring, mood permitting:

The first six of these ten are books I haven’t read yet and ones I really want to read. The two Narnia books are because I’m a bit behind on the Narniathon, and the two Harry Potter books are because I started a reread of the series in 2020 and I didn’t get to the last two.
What about you? Which books are on your Summer 2022 TBR? Do we have any in common?
I learned in DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy) that life is full of dialectics, or two opposing truths. In this case, the two opposing truths are: 1) I don’t agree with JKR’s stance regarding trans people, and 2) I still love Harry Potter.
Its always good to put rereads on your tbr. There is less guilt if you don’t read them 😀
Ha! 😀 That’s true. I didn’t even think of that.
i’m hoping to read lady midnight sometime soon too. hopefully we both enjoy it!
Cool! 😀 I hope we’ll both like it too. I’m pretty sure I will, at least, because I love Cassie’s books.
The Narnia books are ideal for summer, I think, as are the Harry Potters.
I agree. They’re short and easy to read. Plus, they’re a lot of fun. 😀
The Magician’s Nephew was excellent. May you enjoy it.

I’m glad you enjoyed it. 😀 I’ve read it before. This will be my second time. I hope I’ll enjoy it more than I did the first time.
I’ve heard good things about Where the Crawdads Sing.
Here is our Top Ten Tuesday.
I have too. 😀 I’m very excited to read it. Hopefully, I’ll get it done before the movies comes out.
I hope you enjoy all of these!

Thanks, Jo! 😀
I’m a mood reader too, I love doing the lists but I rarely stick to it (I read 8 out of 10 last season, which was my biggest success so far). The Stardust Thief looks good to me. Have a great summer and happy reading!
Good job on reading 8 out of you 10 books on your TBR last season. That’s amazing! I only read 4, but I’m still proud of that considering the mood thing. 😀
A Stardust Thief is SO good. I think you’ll enjoy that one loads!
I’m very excited to read it. I’ve heard such great things about it! 😀
Ooooh, great list! I read The Stardust Thief last month and it was so good that I’m still thinking about it! I hope you enjoy your summer reading.
Here’s my post for this week: http://leahs-books.com/2022/06/28/ttt-books-on-my-summer-2022-tbr/
Thank you! 💜 I’m really excited to read THE STARDUST THIEF. I’ve heard such great things about it.
Like you, I’m 100% a mood reader. I don’t make hard and fast TBR’s but I sometimes have a vague idea of what I might want to read soon. 🙂 I bet As You Wish will be a fun one.
Yep, exactly. I like to have a vague idea as well so I can plan and request things from the library if I need to. I’m a mood reader AND I’m a planner. They don’t always work well with each other, lol. 😀
I don’t do reading lists as I’m just setting myself up for failure by not being in the mood to read the books and then feeling disappointed in myself when I avoid them. Your list is amazing though and I’d definitely read most of the books on there.
I understand. I used to not make reading lists because of being a mood reader. I realized that I like to have a vague idea so I can plan and request things from the library if I need to. I’m a mood reader AND I’m a planner. They don’t always work well with each other, lol. 😀
I really loved the Stadust Thief.

I’m glad to heard that you did. 😀 I’m very excited to read it. I’ve heard such great things about it.
SEAN GRISWOLD’S HEAD is a fun one! I wonder if Leavitt is going to write more YA books. Hers are so entertaining.
I need to keep going with my re-read of HP, too. I think I’m going to keep on with the audiobooks since they’re so engaging.
Happy TTT!

I’ve heard such great things about SEAN GRISWOLD’S HEAD. I’m super excited to read it. The Harry Potter audio books are fantastic. I may read the last two via audio book so I can read while I’m unpacking. 😀
I know what you mean about needing to be in the right mood to read certain books. It’s a fun TTT list. 🙂
Thanks, Lark! 😀 I’ve noticed quite a few people are mood readers and then I know some people who can power through any book. It’s really interesting to me.
So many good books. I enjoyed Dating Dr. Dil and Where the Crawdads Sing is one of my favorites. (I just saw the movie trailer for Where the Crawdads Sing!)
I’m really excited to read both of these. I really hope I can finish WHERE THE CRAWDADS SING before the movie releases next month. We’ll see how much time I have after the move this weekend. 😀
I’m the same with my reading moods. I bet the cary Elwes one will be fun, and your list is making me want to revisit Narnia one of these days. 🙂
I think AS YOU WISH will be fun too. I’ve heard it is, anyway. 😀 The Narnia reread has been fun. I’m not really looking forward to these last two, though. They’re my least favorite of the series. Hopefully, I’ll enjoy them more this second time around.
So many great books on here! I loved The Stardust Thief, Dating Dr. Dil, Harry’s (all) and Lady Midnight. I still need to read Crawdad’s and I’m trying to before the show comes out! Good luck with your list!!
Thanks, Leslie! 😀 I’m glad to hear you loved THE STARDUST THIEF, DATING DR. DIL, and LADY MIDNIGHT. I’m so excited to read all three of them. Good luck with getting WHERE THE CRAWDADS SING read before the movie comes out. I’m trying to do the same.
I think Where the Crawdads Sing is going to be huge this summer, with the film so close! I haven’t read it, but the film trailer makes me want to. I hope you enjoy these!
I agree. It already has a huge waiting list at my library. I ended up buying it on my Kindle so I could read it. 😀
My next BC book is “The Violin Conspiracy” and I’m (as usual) reading some mysteries. I just got the latest Dr. Ruth Galloway mystery and I’m excited about that.
I’ll have to look up THE VIOLIN CONSPIRACY. I haven’t heard of that one. I hope you enjoy it. Mysteries are always good reads. 😀
I would love to get to Where the Crawdads Sing this summer, but I am just hoping to get to it by the end of the year!
Lol. I understand. I was trying to have WHERE THE CRAWDADS SING by the end of May, and then it turned to June, and now it’s hopefully before the movie comes out next month. 😀 Ç’est la vie!
I enjoyed reading As You Wish a couple of years ago. It will make you want to watch the movie again to see some of the things mentioned in the book.

I’m very excited to read AS YOU WISH and think I’ll love it. I’m prepared to want to rewatch The Princess Bride, lol. 😀
What a fun mix of books! I read As You Wish a few years back, and loved it. And it never hurts to dive into Narnia and Harry Potter!! I hope you enjoy all of these.
Thanks, Lisa! I’m really excited to read AS YOU WISH. I’ve wanted to for along time. And, yes, I agree about Harry Potter and Narnia. 😀
I loved Where The Crawdads Sing, hope you will love it too, as well as the other reads on your list!
I’m glad you loved WHERE THE CRAWDADS SING. From what I’ve read, I like it so far. 😀
I love that you included some rereads in your top ten TBR books list! I’m overdue for a Narnia reread, and probably coming up on a HP reread as well.
I love rereading my favorites. I don’t reread very many books during the year, but I like to reread a handful at least. 😀
I can’t predict what I’ll read either. And I really have no idea what’s coming out anymore lol
Karen @For What It’s Worth
I don’t know most of the books coming out anymore either. I know some from following other blogs, but I don’t pay close attention to book releases unless it’s something I’m really looking forward to. 😀 I like to keep reading and blogging as easy and stress-free as possible.
I hope you love Where the Crawdads Sing. I didn’t connect with it right away, but once I did, I loved it. I started listening to As You Wish, and I never finished. I don’t know why! It was great.
Thanks! 😀 I hope I do too. So far, I like what I’ve read. And, I totally get starting a book and then not finishing it even though you’re enjoying it. I’ve done that too. It just wasn’t the right time for it, I guess. 😉
I’m excited to try The Stardust Thief! I think I read Sean Griswald’s Head yeaaaars ago… at least, I remember seeing it around and having fond memories of it haha.
The Stardust Thief sounds so good, doesn’t it? I’ve heard such great things. I’m excited to read it too. And, lol, about Sean Griswold’s Head. I sometimes can’t remember if I’ve read a book or not, but still have fond memories. Our minds are so weird sometimes. 😀
I listened to As You Wish when it first came out. I loved hearing Cary Elwes narrate it himself. It was a lot of fun!
My list is contingent on my mood too. The bad thing is that when I add a book to my list, it’s usually the last thing I feel like reading. I guess I’m just contrary like that.
I hope you enjoy these when/if you read them!
I’ve thought of listening to the audiobook because Cary Elwes narrates it, but I already own the physical book so I’ll probably just read it, lol.
I understand about being contrary. I’m the same way, lol.
I’ve never seen these Harry Potter covers before, they are stunning! Hope you enjoy everything you end up reading!
Thanks, Hannah! These covers are the new UK covers. I want a copy of them. 😀
I just finished the audiobook for Where the Crawdads Sing and I enjoyed it so much more than I expected since it’s not really a genre I read a ton of.
I should also totally put that As You Wish book on my TBR!
I’m so happy to hear that about WHERE THE CRAWDADS SING! 😀 I’ve already started reading it and I really love it so far.
