Top Ten Tuesday #23

Books on my Amazon Wishlist
This week’s prompt seems very strange to me. (I didnโt realize this was a biannual TTT tradition or that it coincided with Giftmas in July when I first wrote this post.)
Sure, I have books on my Amazon wishlist and I don’t expect anyone to buy a book for me. I created my wishlist for my husband and friends so they can get me books I want for my birthday or Christmas. Otherwise, it seems a little bit forward to ask my blog readers to buy me a book for a TTT prompt. Am I being weird about this?
For the sake of participating in the prompt, here are the top ten books on my Amazon wishlist (no link to my wishlist):

What about you? Which books made your list this week? Do we have any in common?
I learned in DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy) that life is full of dialectics, or two opposing truths. In this case, the two opposing truths are: 1) I donโt agree with JKRโs stance regarding trans people, and 2) I still love Harry Potter.
The Midnight Library sounds really good and I hope I finally get to the Last Hour series, as I’m reading Cassandra Clare’s books in the order she recommends and I’m only at book #2 in the 2nd series, The Infernal Devices.

Have great week ๐
I hope you enjoy The Midnight Library when you get to it and I haven’t started the Last Hour trilogy either. I am done with The Mortal Instruments and Infernal Devices books, though, and I read them in Cassie’s preferred order too.
Iโve heard great things about The Midnight Library.
My post: https://lydiaschoch.com/top-ten-tuesday-bookish-wishes-2/
It was fantastic. It was the most profound reading experience I’ve ever had. I hope you like it if you decide to read it.
Anxious People was excellent, it made me cry!
It made me cry too. I loved it. It’s my second favorite read this year.
Nice wishlist !!
Here’s my TTT https://bookishnoomie.blogspot.com/2022/06/top-ten-tuesday-3.html
Thank you! ๐
I don’t have a wish list but should make one. I love HP and Cassandra Clare. I’d also love to read “The Midnight Library.”
I didn’t know you loved HP and Cassandra Clare. They’re some of my favorite series. ๐ I hope you enjoy The Midnight Library when you read it.
May some of your wishes be granted by your loved ones!

Thanks! ๐ I love when I get books for my birthday and Christmas. They’re the perfect gift.
I just put books I’d like to buy for myself one day. I didn’t add an Amazon wish list either. I think a nice hardcopy of The Midnight Library would be nice to have too.
I’m glad I’m not the only one who didn’t put a link to our wishlist. I felt so awkward doing it, lol. And, yes, I’d love a hardcover of The Midnight Library so I can read it whenever I want to.
Great list! And you’re definitely not weird about it, I think most of us feel a bit weird about this topic – I was in doubt but did post my wishlist but also without any expectations at all. The Katherine Arden series is one that’s on my TBR, I’ve heard so many great things about it!
Thanks, Lindsey! ๐ I’m glad I’m not the only one who felt a bit weird/awkward about sharing my wishlist link. I hope you enjoy The Winternight Trilogy when you get to it. I love it so much!
Oh I didn’t know this was a tradition either! I felt weird about doing a wishlist so I didn’t actually make a list on Amazon. Although it is kind of cool to share the love although some might feel obligated to reciprocate, etc, so yeah. ๐ Anywho… that cover of Thorns is amazing!
I’m glad I’m not the only one who didn’t know it was a tradition and felt weird about sharing my wishlist link with people.
The cover for Chain of Thorns is beautiful, isn’t it? It’s one of my favorite covers. I always love the covers to Cassie’s books.
Her covers are always outstanding.
Some of these are on my TBR and some are new to me. I hope you get bought them all then I can read your reviews and find out more about them!
Thanks. I’ve actually already read all of them except Chain of Thorns and The Last Voyage of Poe Blythe. I do look forward to read those two. The other 8 books are fantastic and I recommend every single one of them. ๐
Great list! I’m also really excited for Chain of Thorns the illustrated Order of the Phoenix, even though I think the sheer size and weight of both might cause my shelves to collapse, haha.

Ha ha! So true. They’re both so thick and the illustrated Harry Potter editions are SOOOO heavy.
Great list! I love the Katherine Arden series and The Midnight Library. I hope you get some of the books on your list!
Thanks, Leah! ๐
Very interesting tradition! I don’t even know what books I want right now! AH! I’m so so so out of the bookish loop!
I understand. I was out of the loop before I started blogging again this year. Now, I feel like I have a good grasp on what’s out there. Although, I’m always still surprised on these lists how many books I’ve never heard of, lol.
I love the Winternight Trilogy and own it in hardcover. I hope you receive these for your birthday or Christmas!
Thanks, Jen! ๐ I have the Winternight Trilogy in ebook and I loved it so much that I want it on my shelves.
Nice list! I somehow missed that Ally Condie book. I loved her Matched series. Happy reading! ๐
Thanks! ๐ The Last Voyage of Poe Blythe’s supposed to be in the same universe as Matched. I’m really excited to read it.
I never use this topic to post a wishlist link or anything as is suggested. I generally just share what is on my tbr or what I’d like to buy next. And around xmas it is always what I asked from my husband haha.
That’s a good idea. I like that approach better than asking people to buy me books. ๐
I totally agree with you there, Jenni. I wouldn’t think any of my blog readers would want to buy me a book. Especially since most of them are in a different country. Postage would cost more than the book.
I think The Tale of Three Trees was one of the first English books I ever owned. And I used it in our church every year as an Easter read. Such a fantastic book. Hope you’ll get it soon.
Thanks for visiting my TTT this week.
The Book Depository is a great way to buy books for people in different countries. The postage is inexpensive. I use them when I do giveaways. ๐ But, yes, I’m glad I’m not the only one who feels uncomfortable asking for books.
The Tale of Three Trees is a fantastic Easter read. It’s one of my favorite books.
This prompt always feels a little uncomfortable for me too, so I usually just do my own thing when it comes up. You do have some great choices here! I particularly enjoyed Anxious People and the entire Winternight trilogy is one of my all-time favourites!
I’m glad I’m not the only one who feels uncomfortable asking people for books. Anxious People and the Winternight Trilogy are phenomenal. I love them so much! ๐
I am like you, I feel REALLY weird asking people to buy me books. I only do this prompt when I am planning to gift others, which I can’t do this time. That way I don’t feel so bad about it, LOL. This is the third time this prompt has come around, the first time I got no books, and the second time I got 3 (WOW!) and then this time I talked about the library ๐ I hope you get a wish granted!
I think that’s a good plan. I can’t gift others right now since we’re moving in less than two weeks. I need to save my money as much as possible. Once I’m moved, then I could do some gifts.
I try to not think about it as asking for books – just sharing it and if people want to, awesome, but if not, that’s okay too. I like when people post theirs because I like doing random gift giving for people. ๐
I’m definitely excited for the 5th HP book – illustrated. They are just beautiful.
That’s a good way of looking at it. I always feel so awkward asking people for books. However, if I looked at it like you did, I might feel better about it. ๐
I’m funny about this topic too. I love to grant bookish wishes for other people but feel weird getting my own granted, haha. The Winternight Trilogy is amazing so I do hope you’re able to read that one soon. ๐
I’ve actually read the Winternight Trilogy already. I loved it so much that I want a hardcover of each book. ๐
Hopefully next time you’ll feel comfortable sharing a link to your wish list? It’s fun to spread a little book love and gift a book to friends. ๐
Yeah, maybe. ๐
Midnight Library and Anxious People are books I really enjoyed! I know, it’s such a weird feeling to post about bookish wishes! haha. I hope you have a lovely day! <3
Thanks, Leslie! I hope you have a lovely day too! I’m glad you enjoyed The Midnight Library and Anxious People. I did as well. I just want my own copy now. ๐
I, too, find it odd to expect blog followers to buy books for me. I also don’t prefer using Amazon to buy books because of how they treat publishers, authors, and libraries. (But that’s my personal stance.)
But I like your choices for your wishlist! I’m curious about The Midnight Library and the Bear and the Nightingale books. ๐
I’m glad I’m not the only one who feels uncomfortable asking for books. I try to buy books from other stores than Amazon too. I know that my friends find it easier to use Amazon, though, so that’s why I still use it.
I hope you enjoy The Midnight Library and Winternight trilogy as much as I did if you decide to read them. ๐
