Top Ten Tuesday #15

Books I Put on my TBR Because the Covers are Purple
This week’s prompt is “Books with [___] on the Cover” and it comes with instructions. They are: Pick a thing (a color, an item, a place, an animal, a scripty font, a sexy person, etc.) and share covers that have that thing on the cover.
I’ll admit I often choose to read books based solely on how much the cover appeals to me. The cover’s the reason I first pick up the book to read the synopsis, getting the author’s foot in the door, so to speak.
Here are my top ten books I’m looking forward to reading (or I put on my TBR) because they have purple covers:

A couple of these books have been on my TBR for more than a decade. I’ll get to them someday … I hope, lol. Too many books, not enough time. Am I right? If you’ve read any of these books, please tell me which one I should read first in the comments.
I also want to share three books with purple covers I’ve already read and adored. They are:

I’m a sucker for purple and a gorgeous cover.
What about you? Which books with [___] on the cover are on your list this week?
The Bone Witch and The Sound of Stars have been on my tbr forever too. Some day, right?
Also purple covers are so pretty.
I’m really looking forward to reading The Bone Witch. It sounds really good. I loved The Sound of Stars and hope to read The Kindred sometime soon.
I don’t think of the colors of books usually. Im so impressed you could think of ten purple covers. I considered flowers or a spring theme but then opted for weirdly awful classic covers My TTT is here. Please visit and comment. Thanks.
I don’t think of colors in the sense of organizing my library by color. But, certain colors definitely draw me in more than others and purple’s one of them since it’s my favorite color. I used Goodreads to help me come up with my list. I already had these on my To Read list, I just went to the “Cover View” and chose my favorites.
I did a top ten purple covers sometime last year, I don’t think it’s that common so really makes a book stand out. I think my TBR would be a lot smaller if I wasn’t swayed by pretty covers so much…
I think you’re right. Purple is rare as the main color on the cover. I have over 1200 books on my TBR and I only had 20-ish books with purple covers. My TBR would definitely be a lot smaller if I wasn’t swayed my pretty covers, lol.
Great list of gorgeous covers. But I’m super biased because I also went with a color, but not purple though 😊
I read and enjoyed The Bone With series and found the covers very interesting…

Thanks, Rae! 💜 I’m excited to see what color your chose! I’m glad to hear you enjoyed The Bone Witch series. I’m very excited to read it at some point.
The only one I read is Odd Thomas but I do love the color purple. These covers do pull the reader in.
I’ve heard great things about Odd Thomas. I’m very excited to read the series. I’m very excited to read something by Dean Koontz period. And, yes, purple is so inviting. That’s what I love about it. 🙂
Purple is my favourite colour. I love this list! 🙂

Yay! Purple for the win! 💜
Somehow, I’m not at all surprised you chose purple covers 🙂 These are all so gorgeous, too. Let’s see, I’ve read THE DARK DIVINE, ODD THOMAS, and THE FORGETTING. THE FORGETTING is my favorite of the three. Fun list!
Happy TTT!

Lol. Yeah, if you know me well enough, then it’s not hard to guess I’d go with this topic. 😉
I also love a purple cover and will add a book to my TBR on the cover alone! Great list!
Thanks, Wendy! 🙂 It’s always nice to find another book lover who’s taken in by a beautiful cover.
I hope you get to read your purple books

Thanks! 🙂 I hope I do too.
Oh these purple covers are gorgeous indeed!
Happy TTT!

Thanks, Mareli! 😀 I’m glad you like them!
These all look so pretty together! The Sound of Stars is one of my all time favorite book covers, and I also love the cover for The Bone Witch!
Thank you! I love seeing them all together too. I made a collage for my Instagram feed and the purples are just so pretty together. I also love The Sound of Stars cover. It’s gorgeous. The Bone Witch is also lovely. It’s so mysterious and intriguing.
I do love the color purple! Cool topic for today 🙂
Thanks, Cindy! 😀 Purple for the win!
Horror Hotel is gorgeous! I’m going to check it out!
It is, isn’t it? I love the illustration and the different colors.
I love the use of purple on all of these. That first cover is cool. I also love seeing that And I Darken cover every time it pops up somewhere.
Thanks, I do too! 🙂
I love a purple cover! I read The Truth About Alice last year, after *ages* on my TBR, and the cover was a big part of the reason I wanted to in the first place.
It’s such a lovely cover and you know it tells a wonderful story. 🙂
I love it!
Thanks! 😀
These are pretty covers! I’ve only read The Truth About Alice and The Dark Divine. I gave 4 stars to both. I added Horror Hotel and Lost and Found in Paris to my TBR!
Thanks. 🙂 I’m glad to hear you liked The Truth About Alice so much. I hope we both like Horror Hotel and Lost and Found in Paris.
To be honest, I never look much at covers, but turn immediately to the synopsis on the inside cover to see if it intrigues me. Then I read the first couple pages of the book to try to gauge the level of writing. It’s strange because I’m a very visual person so you would think that I would pay more attention to the artwork. I have loved many quotes from “Odd Thomas” but never read it. Perhaps I should!
I used to not care about covers when they were ugly and had nothing really to do with the book, lol. But, when I started reading YA about 14 years ago, I started paying attention to the covers and really fell in love with them. I know a lot of the covers still have nothing to do with the book, but at least they’re pretty now.
You totally should read Odd Thomas. I know I should as well. I even already own the first novel in the series.
I haven’t read any of these, but I love the gorgeous covers and how awesome they all look together. Great list!
Thank you! I love how they all look together too. 😀
I love purple covers too, I did a post of them a few years back but we actually only have one crossover which is Amanda Foody’s Daughter of The Burning City, just shows that there are a lot of purple covers out there!

Oh, that’s cool. I’ll have to go to your blog and search for them. I’m curious which books you had on that list, 🙂
Oh my goodness–these are all so pretty! Great topic choice! I see a few that I know, too. 🙂
Thanks, Christine! 💜
I love purple too so these book covers REALLY appeal.
Don’t they, though? They’re all so inviting! 😀
Purple? And about Paris? Well, that’s enough for me to look for Lost and Found in Paris, I think.
I hope you like it if you do read it. I hope I like it when I read it, lol.
I had a feeling you’d choose purple covers. Ha!
Nice choices!
Thanks! 🙂
Such lovely covers! I love the different shades of purple. I’ve only read one of the books from your list and did not care for it, sadly. I do want to read several of the others though and have them on my TBR.
That’s okay that you didn’t like the book you read. It’s happens, right? We can’t love them all. 🙂
