🎊Happy Thanksgiving to all my friends in the United States!🎊

Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. It’s the one day of the year where gratitude is the main focus. Even though we should focus on gratitude all the time, when you’re living with a mental illness that can be really hard to do sometimes. Fortunately, I’m in a place right now where I can remember all the things I’m thankful for and I wanted to take the time to express them.

In no particular order (except #16 and #30), here’s a list of 30 things I’m thankful for:

  1. My family
  2. Life, in general (it’s precious)
  3. This time of year (holiday season)
  4. My friends
  5. Modern medicine
  6. My kitties
  7. My job
  8. My intelligence
  9. Air conditioning and heating
  10. A working government that affords me my rights, including the ability to express my opinion (even if it’s being run by an arrogant Cheeto who doesn’t know what he’s doing)
  11. Salad bar at work every Thursday
  12. Sleep
  13. My Purple mattress and pillow (the Nyquil of mattresses and pillows)
  15. Christina Funes’ pregnancy (after five miscarriages in a row, she deserves to have a perfect baby born in April)
  16. Corey (I chose this number on purpose because his birthday is November 16; trust me, he’s not my 16th priority)
  17. My drug cocktail that’s keeping my depression and anxiety at bay (for now)
  18. Books and reading and awesome authors
  19. Mountains
  20. My Top 15 Celebrity Crush list
  21. Justice vs. Mercy
  22. Essential oils diffusers
  23. Thanksgiving
  24. Mathematics
  25. Linguistics
  26. My Snooze button
  27. Music
  28. Vaccines
  29. Repentance
  30. My Savior, Jesus Christ, without whom none of the above would be possible

What are you thankful for?

Yes, it really is so easy to take our blessings for granted. I’m glad we have one day a year to reflect on those. I hope we can do it more than once a year, but I’m glad for it at least. Thank you for the well wishes. I hope you and yours had a wonderful holiday as well. 😀
