Sunday Post #12

The Sunday Post is a blog news meme hosted at Caffeinated Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news, recap the past week on your blog, and showcase books and things received.
Feeling

I’m feeling really good about most things right now. My health continues to improve. My procedures on Monday went well. I’m just waiting for the results from the biopsies. I did find out that I have inflammation in my stomach lining and that’s what caused me to vomit blood. It’s not an ulcer yet. My doctors have increased the dosage of my heartburn/acid reflux medication to help calm the irritation down.

I also got caught up in my math class this week. I was behind because of being so sick. I’m working on getting caught up in my Japanese class. Hopefully, I’ll be caught up by the end of this coming week.

Blogging

This week on the blog:

Reading

I barely finished THE SILVER CHAIR by CS Lewis on March 31 so I could count it as a March read. I’m finally going to start reading my February Book of the Month pick today–A RIVER ENCHANTED by Rebecca Ross. I’m excited to read it!

Listening

In honor of Corey and I finishing binge-watching How I Met Your Mother, I thought I’d share “I’m Gonna Be (500 Miles)” by the Proclaimers even though everyone knows this song. If you’ve ever seen HIMYM, then you know why. If you don’t like this song, just keep on listening. It’ll come around.

Watching

As I said above, Corey and I finished binge-watching How I Met Your Mother this week. It was LEGEN-wait-for-it-DARY! Now, we’re going to watch the first season of How I Met Your Father and see if we like it at all.

I also found another cooking competition on Netflix that’s really fun. It’s called Baking Impossible. It teams up a pastry chef with an engineer and they have to bake/build these really awesome feats. They’ve had to build a sailboat, robot, chain reaction machine, costume, mini golf course, skyscraper, vehicle, and bridge. All of them edible and all of them have to pass stress tests. For example, the sailboat had to sail across a small waterway within 45 seconds to not fail. I only have one episode left and it’s been really fun.

Loving

I love how the bookmark I made for my IRL book club turned out. I unveiled it this week and I was so excited to share it in my Upcoming Book Club Picks post (link above).

Wanting

I want the 19th to get here quickly because it’s my birthday and I love celebrating my birthday, lol.

Needing

I need the weather to quit being bipolar and pick spring instead of winter. It’s time for the sun and warmer weather all the time or most of the time!

How was your week? Anything exciting happen?

I’m glad to hear you got good news and that things are going well. Yay!

Yay for The Silver Chair too. I haven’t read Narnia in ages.

I love that song. I saw it from a different movie (trying to remember which one), but yeah… 🙂

I wish I knew! I even looked it up just now but no luck. I know it wasn’t Benny and Joon though as I had never seen that movie. Maybe I’m imagining it and just saw the video, but that’s bugging me now ha!

Ha! I understand. I hope you can remember so it stops plaguing you. And, by remember, I mean either remember the movie or remember that you didn’t watch anything, lol.

I am so very pleased to hear you feeling positive again and that your health has improved too. I hope you will continue to get better and better, and that the biopsy results will be helpful. ❤ My own week was a busy, fun but tiring one, and like you we have bipolar weather: going from bright sunshine to bitterly cold, grey and we even had snow! 🤪 Here’s to a happy, calm and warmer coming week! 🤞

Thank you, Jessica! 🙂 Wow, snow! It sounds like you live close to me, lol. I know you don’t. I just had to make the joke because we often get a few days of snow until June in my neck of the woods. 😳

So good to hear you are feeling at least a bit better. I laughed at your description of the weather as being bi-polar – that’s exactly how it’s been in my part of England. We had snow showers that lasted half an hour followed by the sun coming out and melting all the snow, then the cycle started again. It lasted a couple of days but thankfully the snow melted almost as soon as it fell.

Thanks, Louise! 🙂 Oh wow! Your weather definitely does sound bipolar, lol. I’m glad the snow didn’t stick. We haven’t had snow for a few weeks, but it’s been bitterly cold one day and then almost in the 80s the next. I wouldn’t be surprised if we do get snow one of the days because we often get one or two snow days until June in my neck of the woods, lol. 🙄

Thank you so much, Emily! 🙂 The weather seems to be weird everywhere, doesn’t it? I think the only places it may be nice is near the equator or in tropical areas. I think it’s time for a trip to Hawaii. I wish, lol.

It’s so good they found the inflammation and that it is so easily treatable. Hope the biopsy results come out negative 🤞. And happy birthday month ❤️

We finally got around to watching How I Met Your Mother long after it had gone off the air. It’s one of the best series I ever watched. Let us know what you think about the sequel series.

I finished The Silver Chair but I haven’t started the April book for Narniathon yet.

    That’s all great news!

We had the wackiest weather yesterday. All in one day we torrential downpours, bright sun, high winds, hail, more sun lol Tonight we’re having frost but then it will be almost 80 by Wednesday and then back down to 50’s.

I am glad to hear things are going well for you! I hope the test results come back in your favor. The wait can be nerve wracking sometimes. I have only seen a few episodes of How I Met Your Mother, but I’ve enjoyed what I saw. Someday perhaps I will watch the entire series. I am a fan of Neil Patrick Harris. My daughter has really gotten into Baking Impossible. She loves those cooking shows. She’s watching Nailed It for the umpteenth time now. I hope you have a happy birthday!

Thank you! I did find out the biopsies are negative so that’s good news. 🙂 If you’re a fan of NPH, then I think you’d like HIMYM. He’s so awesome in his role as Barney Stinson. That’s cool about your daughter. She and I are kindred spirits. Although, I haven’t watched Nailed It yet. Maybe I should.
