Anne of Green Gables Readalong Schedule

Those who read my Anne of Green Gables Readalong post know that I want to do a readalong. Almost everyone who commented on the post, IRL, or on Instagram told me March would be better for them than April. Since my “dream team” and I have done successful readalongs in the past, I decided to enlist Kami’s and Suey’s help for this one too. Join us in an Anne of Green Gables Readalong during the month of March.

Schedule

  • Chapters 1-13: March 1-11
  • Chapters 14-26: March 12-22
  • Chapters 27-38: March 23-31

Discussion Posts

Each discussion post will go up on either Suey’s, Kami’s, or my blog at the end of each section.

We’ll have linkies to link up your posts. You can also use the above image for the readalong if you’d like.

Twitter Chats

We’ll have three Twitter chats throughout the readalong. We’ll announce the dates and times of each chat in our kickoff posts. Use #GreenGablesRAL to during the chats and to share your thoughts while you’re reading the book.

Movie Party

Kami, Suey, and I will also be hosting a movie party to watch the Anne of Green Gables miniseries (the 1985 edition with Megan Follows) after the readalong ends. We’ll announce the date and location in our kickoff posts. If you’re in Utah and you want to come, let us know in the comments so we know who’s interested. If you’re not in Utah, join us on Twitter!

Our kickoff posts will go up on our blogs on March 1! We hope you join us AND spread the word!

Anne of Green Gables Readalong

Book blogger confession time. I have never read Anne of Green Gables. *gasp* I know. I should be kicked out of the club, right? I think I missed a right of passage or something. I have seen the movies, though.

When I was in junior high, at a time when I hated to read, my parents bought me the entire paperback set to try to get me to read. Sadly, it didn’t work. Those lovely books just sat on my bookshelf collecting dust. Okay, I do admit that I tried to read the first book after I watched the movie, but I don’t think I even made it to the end of the first chapter.

I received the Barnes & Noble edition of Anne of Green Gables for Christmas and it would be a shame to let it go unread. I’m thinking about hosting a readalong. Would anyone be interested in reading Anne of Green Gables with me? Would anyone like to co-host the readalong with me? I think March or April would be a good month to read this classic. How about you?
