I first saw this commercial last Wednesday. One of my Twitter friends posted something about it. The minute I saw it, I fell in love. Not only is it about Volkswagen, it also incorporates two of my favorite things: Star Wars and John Williams. With that being said, the main reason I love this commercial is because of my friends’ little boy Jack.
Jack is six years old and he’s obsessed with Star Wars. I mean he really loves Star Wars! If he could be a Jedi, it would be the best thing in the world to him. In fact, he’s expressed interest in becoming a youngling. Anyway, when Jack was first introduced to Star Wars, Ali would tell me about all the Star Wars related things Jack did and one of the more amusing ones had to do with the Force. Jack tried and tried to get the Force to work for him. When he couldn’t get it, he said things like, “I can’t get the Force to work. I need to practice more.” No matter how much Ali or Tyler tried to convince him that the Force isn’t real, he just couldn’t/wouldn’t believe it.
When I saw this commercial, it reminded me of him. And, as many of you know, Jack is one of my most favorite little boys in the whole world so anything that reminds me of him is awesome in my book. Enjoy!
PS–This is the same commercial that aired during the Super Bowl, or so I’ve been told since I didn’t actually watch the Super Bowl.

It really is a cute commercial.
I love it! I’m so glad it was aired during the Super Bowl so more people could see it.
I saw it when you posted a link of Facebook last week! Seriously it is so cute!!! Who knew that Darth Vader would make me want to go pinch someone’s adorable little cheeks?!
No kidding! I love how expressive the kid is even with being in complete costume!
Kevin pulled this up on the internet and as soon as the boys heard the Death March they were mesmerized. I think it is every little boy’s dream to learn how to use the force.
Ha! I can see your boys doing that. So funny! I would love to learn how to use the Force too, if only it were real. That and have a real magic wand like Harry.
I saw this commercial last week and laughed right out loud. So clever! Apparently, this commercial has been a hot topic on a lot of the daytime talk shows today, and I think the little six-year-old actor even appeared on one of them. This one scores a ten in my book!
That’s cool that so many daytime talk shows are picking it up. I didn’t realize the actor was six years old. That puts him right in line with Jack.
Oh my gosh! I think this is the cutest thing I have ever seen! I didn’t watch the super bowl and so I didn’t get to see the commercials. Thanks for posting! Love it!!!
I’m glad you enjoyed it!
I didn’t watch the Super Bowl either…but did catch all the commercials on the internet. This is hands down my favorite, maybe of all time!! (the cat wrangles are still up there too though).
Exactly like you said how he was soooo expressive in a mask! Cutest thing EVER!!!!
I need to watch the other commercials. I’ve seen the Doritos commercial with the dog and the Drive Safely commercial too. Those were pretty good, but this one is my favorite of the three.
Oh my gosh, that is so adorable! I need to watch some of the other commercials. My hubby was telling me one about a dog named No-No-Oko.
I haven’t heard about that dog! I’ll have to look for him when I got search out the other commercials.
I guess the kid showed up on the Today Show and another one to ‘reveal’ himself. Turns out he’s never watched Star Wars. xD
After Deon posted, I went and looked for the interview. I wanted to see what the kid looked like and read that he had never watched Star Wars.
This was my favorite of the SB commercials that I saw. It’s so cute.
I still need to see the others, but I’m sure this one will remain my favorite.
