Macon Leary is a travel writer who hates both travel and anything out of the ordinary. He is grounded by loneliness and an unwillingness to compromise his creature comforts when he meets Muriel, a deliciously peculiar dog-obedience trainer who up–ends Macon’s insular world–and thrusts him headlong into a remarkable engagement with life.

I had to read The Accidental Tourist for my English class.  This isn’t a book I would’ve chosen to read on my own.  However, I’m glad my teacher assigned it to us because I ended up enjoying it.  It took a little while for me to get into it (mostly because the main character bothered me to no end), but I’m glad I gave it a chance.

About Jenni Elyse

I enjoy reading, listening to music, watching movies and TV, playing any type of game (especially anything related to Zelda and Mario), aimlessly surfing the Internet, crocheting, knitting, playing the piano, and hanging out with my husband, cats, and friends.
