Some exciting news was learned at the Sundance Film Festival last week. (Thanks to my friend Ouisa for the heads up.) According to the LA Times, Stephenie Meyer’s production company will be working on a movie for Anna Dressed in Blood, a book by Kendare Blake.
I’m actually really kind of excited about this. I think Anna Dressed in Blood will make a fantastic movie–action-packed horror with a little romance on the side. What more could you want in a movie?
I am a little surprised that Stephenie Meyer took on this project. Anna Dressed in Blood just doesn’t seem like the type of book she’d read. But, then again, it doesn’t really seem like the type of book I’d read either and yet I did and loved it! It just goes to show you that you can never judge a book, or a person, by their cover.
What do you think of this news?

I wasn’t totally enthralled with this book. I’m curious how the movie will be, though.
I am too. I’m wondering how everything will translate on screen. If they make it as gory as the book, it’ll definitely be R.
ANNA does seem a little dark for Stephenie Meyer, but hopefully she does a good job with it. I hate it when my favorite books are ruined by idiotic movie interpretations of them.
It does, doesn’t it? It just surprises me. Also because of the language. But, maybe, she’s like me and liked the story and didn’t focus on the language. I don’t know.
