My library is huge for my mental health. It’s the one room I can go to sit and just relax and feel peace. It’s not only where I go to read, but it’s where I craft as well.

My “old” library was nice, but I had mismatched shelves (not all of them, but the overflow shelf was different) and I had finally run out of shelf space. I had also always wanted purple walls, so it was time for an upgrade.

We couldn’t put a lot of money into my library, so I looked at Ikea’s selection and found some beautiful ones for a really good price. I love that they’re two tone: white and wood. Oh, and they’re real wood, not veneer. So when you walk into my library it smells like Christmas or a forest. It’s wonderful! I hope the smell lasts forever.

The hardest part was dismantling the old one and remantling (😂) the new one. It took three days to do and Corey and I are both pooped. I still need to hang the wall art and blinds. I also have plans to hang a steel panel as a magnet board, but that’s a little further down the road. For now, I’m calling my new library done. 📚 Yay!

Here’s a video of the whole library:

Your new library is so gorgeous, Jenni! I love the Stitch’s and Toothless hanging out in the chair 🙂 Currently my books are split between two different residences but I’m set to move in a few months so I’m hoping to finally consolidate them into one collection. Anyway, enjoy your new space!
