Title: Men in Black 3
MPAA Rating: PG-13
Notable Cast: Will Smith, Tommy Lee Jones, Josh Brolin, Jemaine Clement, Emma Thompson
In Men in Black 3, Agents J and K are back … in time. J has seen some inexplicable things in his 15 years with the Men in Black, but nothing, not even aliens, perplexes him as much as his wry, reticent partner. But when K’s life and the fate of the planet are put at stake, Agent J will have to travel back in time to put things right. J discovers that there are secrets to the universe that K never told him–secrets that will reveal themselves as he teams up with the young Agent K to save his partner, the agency, and the future of humankind. Summary from Official Movie Site
I love the Men in Black movies. I think they’re fantastic. Both Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones do such a great job as Agents J and K. While I enjoyed Men in Black 2, I didn’t enjoy it quite as much as I did the first movie. However, Men in Black 3 blew me away!
First, two words. Josh. Brolin. Josh Brolin was amazing. He channeled Tommy Lee Jones’s mannerisms and voice so well that it was as though he really was Jones 40 years younger. Corey and I could’ve sworn that Brolin’s voice was voiced over with Jones’s voice. But, NPR interviews state that there were no voice overs. *jaw drop*
Second, the special effects, as usual, were awesome. The bad guy, the weapons, all the aliens, the vehicles, etc. looked awesome! It almost seemed like they were real and not CGI, a mark of good CGI in my opinion.
Third, the humor was fantastic. I absolutely loved Agent J’s neuralizer stories. They were awesome in the first two, but they take the cake in this one, especially one of the ones he does in the past. I don’t think I’ve ever laughed quite as hard or as often as I did while watching Men in Black 3.
