This week’s Follow Friday question is: Who is your favorite villain from a book?
Such a hard question! There are so many great villains. You have your blatantly bad villains where there’s no question they’re the villain or evil (e.g. Voldemort). You have your antagonistic-type villains that are supposed to be good, but they’re really not (e.g. Professor Umbridge). And, you have your gray villains who you question their motives during the entire story, and once you find out their motives you realize they would’ve stayed bad if something hadn’t compelled them to be good but you still love and admire them just the same (e.g. Severus Snape).
But, who to choose as my favorite?! Do I choose one of these three or do I choose someone from a whole other book? I don’t know! Who am I kidding? I have to choose someone from Harry Potter. I think I’m going to go with Umbridge because I wanted her dead and to get her comeuppance more than I wanted Voldemort defeated. I hated her! She made my skin crawl and made me seethe and shake my fist at the book as I read it.
What about you?

I think Snape was the real hero in Harry Potter. His story is so awesome! I think I hated Umbridge more than anyone else in those books…even Voldermort.
Snape’s story is awesome. I do love it. JK Rowling wrote him very well. And, yes, Umbridge. *shudders*
From the HP books, I’d totally pick Umbridge as well. She was way worse than Voldemort. There were moments when I pitied and felt sorry for Tom Riddle. Umbridge was just bad to the core.
I agree. Tom Riddle never had anyone love him and he came from a Muggle-hating, dark wizard family. No wonder he turned out the way he did. Umbridge just got off on using her power and influence in high places to make others’ lives miserable. So evil!
A lot of people chose HP characters. Great pick!

Yep, Umbridge was so much worse than Voldermort. I hated her so bad. She’s the epitome of evil.
