Yeah, I don't blame you for not wanting to shell out $10 for it. It's definitely worth watching once and Redbox or Netflix will totaly be fine for that one-time viewing.

Nice review, Jenni! You made great points about the direction and filming of the movie. I know those things would bother me too. I'm not sure if I'm willing to shell out $10 to see it on the theaters but I'm putting this one on my list to watch when it comes out on DVD. Thanks for the review. :)

Ha! I'm sure I'd be a lazy something too. I'm not sure if I'd be a super villain though. I feel guilty too easily. But, I'm sure I'd lose control when my emotions get the better of me, which they do often.

I'm glad you did a review. I think the filming will bother me but, like you, I'm interested in the movie for the question it poses. If I had telekinesis I'd be a very large lazy super villain for sure.;)

It was really interesting. And, I think waiting for Netflix or Redbox is a good idea. Although, seeing the effects on the big screen was pretty cool too.

Oh, one of the hardest things for me to get over was the plural vs. singular thing with subjects. For example, in the US edition, it says something like, Gryffindor is the winner of the Quidditch match. But, in the UK edition, it's: Gryffindor are.... In American English a group is singular and uses the singular conjugation of the verb. But, in British English, because the group is made up of many people, it's plural. It tripped me up every time, lol.

I would say about 5-10% of the words are different what with the spelling changes an all.

But, I noticed things like:
Lemon sherbet = lemon drop
bauble hats = bonnets
roundabout = carousel
cine-camera = video recorder
Sellotape = Scotch tape
jumper = sweater

There were a lot of others throughout the entire story. I don't remember them all, but I smiled every time I came across a change. Some of the changes I knew about (jumper instead of sweater), but some of them were completely new to me. It was really interesting to see the differences.
