I realized that I hadn’t posted my reflections about Project 365 or my top ten pictures yet. I learned a lot from Project 365. I learned that I need structure, but that I also don’t like to dictated by that structure. I also learned that I can keep up with something, even if I don’t want to, as long as I’m determined enough to stick to it.
At first, it was really easy to take a picture each day because I hadn’t taken any pictures yet so there was no worry about duplication, it was new and I was excited about it, and I thought it was fun. After a few months, however, I started to get really sick of it. I felt like I had nothing to take pictures of except the same old things. But, I still kept up with the project. Once winter came, I liked taking pictures of the snow for a while, but then it just seemed dark, dreary, and dirty everywhere. Corey was a great sport and supported me a lot during this project. He was always willing to drive me to remote areas so I could get just the right picture. Sometimes, the right angle for a picture could only be capture while we were driving. I needed a chauffeur so I could point and click out the window while the car was moving. He often gave me ideas when I had none. He always critiqued my pictures and helped me choose the best one for the day. Without him, I couldn’t have kept up with the project.
I’m really glad I stuck with it. It taught me discipline. And, I even find that I miss it, but only a little bit, not enough to take it up again. But, I’m doing other picture projects here and there and I’m trying to decide if I should wait to post them for Wordless Wednesdays or just whenever I take a picture of something interesting.
As I have been looking through all 365 pictures I took, there are a couple of pictures that are definitely my favorites and were easy to pick out of the group. But, for the most part, I like lots of the pictures I took and it was really hard to come up with ten and only ten. But, I did. Here are my top ten pictures in order from ten to one, one being my very favorite: [Read more...]
