Amber and Greg, my niece and nephew-in-law, welcomed their second child into their family today.  Annabelle Leigh was born at 10:14 am CST.  She weighs 7 lbs. 2 oz. and is 18.5 in. long.  She’s exactly 18 months younger than her brother, Jared.

Belle is named after her great-great grandmother and her mom.  Her first name comes from my paternal grandmother, Annabelle Jackson.  And, her middle name comes from my niece’s middle name.

Amber and Belle are doing fine.  Greg called me in response to a text I sent them and I got to hear Belle sneeze over the phone.  It was really cute! Amber told me she came quickly as they were only at the hospital for three and a half hours before she was born. Lucky for Amber!

Aymee and Dave, my niece and nephew-in-law, welcomed their second daughter into their family on Tuesday, March 24, 2009.  Sophie Grace Callister was born at 3:41 pm.  She weighed 6 lbs. 10 oz. and was 20 in. long.

My niece Carlee told me that Aubree, Sophie’s older sister, adores her and keeps saying, “Love you, baby Sophie!”  We’ll see if those feelings last now that little Sophie’s home.

This is the only picture I have of little Sophie.  I’m trying to get Dave to e-mail me some more.  Also, Corey and I were going to go up and see her tomorrow, but I’m sick and unless I’m completely better, then I won’t be going anywhere near them. As soon as I get more pictures, I’ll post them.

Brittni and Sheldon, my niece and her boyfriend, had their second baby.  Jazlyn Raenon Ann Ernsberger was born Thursday, July 17, 2008 at 11:29 am. She weighed 7 lbs. 15 oz. and was 19.5 in. long.  Brittni and Jazlyn are doing well.

Tyra, Jazlyn’s older sister, isn’t sure what to think yet.  Being a four-year-old, I guess it’s hard to give up some of her attention to the baby. I’m sure she’ll come to love Jazlyn in time.

Amber and Greg, my niece and nephew-in-law, had their first baby today. They had a little boy, which makes him my first great-nephew.  He was born at 6:40 pm CDT. He weighs 8 lbs. 3 oz. and is 20 in. long.

His name is Jared Walker Hansen. He’s named after two of his three grandfathers, Greg’s dad and Amber’s dad. I really want to call him Walker so I don’t have to differentiate between a brother named Jared and a great-nephew named Jared. There are already too many double names in my family–two Karens, two Brittanys, three Bretts (spellings are different, though).  But, everyone else is going to call him Jared, so I guess I’ll conform too … maybe.

Amber and Jared are doing great. In fact, Amber’s doing more than great because Jared came on his due date and she was worried he wouldn’t.
