Today, Corey and I celebrated our 13th anniversary. Now that we’ve made it to lucky number 13, we’re home free, right? No more hard work to keep the relationship going? 8O Just kidding. ;)

It’s been a good 13 years. They’ve been rough and we’ve definitely had our ups and downs. But, we always seem to come out of top and willing to work things out. I wouldn’t change our life for anything, even with all the health, money, and other problems we’ve had along the way.

To celebrate, Corey sent me flowers at work. (I tried to give him one of my sugar cookies from Subway, which he normally likes, but he wouldn’t accept it. ) I got an e-mail from the front desk telling me I had a delivery. When I walked downstairs, I could see purple galore. The flowers included cream daisies, creamish-pinkish mini roses, some really cute purple flowers that are a lot like baby’s breath, and some other purple flowers that are lot like carnations (but prettier). I absolutely love the flowers and the vase! :D

After work, Corey and I went to a movie. We decided to see The King’s Speech. It was a fantastic movie! The actors were superb, especially Colin Firth. He definitely deserved the Oscar for this role. The movie was very moving and I really enjoyed it. I highly recommend it and feel that the movie deserves its win as Best Picture this year.

Even though we didn’t get to spend a lot of time together today, we still had fun during the time we did spend together. Thank you, Honey, for making today enjoyable! I love you! :D

Disclaimer

The King’s Speech is rated R for language. Normally, language bothers me, but in this movie and in the scenes the language was used, it seemed almost necessary to depict the intended feeling of frustration by Colin Firth’s character. However, if you’re worried the language may be too much, then I recommend you see it edited or clear played so you get a chance to see it.

Tomorrow is Corey’s and my 12th anniversary. Because our anniversary falls on a Sunday this year, we decided to celebrate our anniversary today. However, because of homework and other obligations on both of our parts, we decided just to go see a movie together and give each other gifts. (We haven’t given each other an anniversary gift for most of our marriage so this is a big deal for us. ;) )

Corey bought me a Canon powershot. I mentioned to Corey a couple of weeks ago that a digital camera would be a nice gift since we didn’t have one anymore and since we’ve never had a nice one. Corey did some research and found out that the powershot has great reviews and really nice features. The camera comes in gray, light blue, or hot pink. He chose the hot pink and I love it! It’s so fun!

He actually gave it to me a few days ago when it came in the mail. I’ve been checking out its features and taking pictures ever since. It’s awesome! It has a timer, which is so cool. Here are some of the pictures I’ve taken with my camera this week.

I gave Corey stone sculpting tools (pictured above). He’s going to pick up some stone next week so he can use his tools. I can’t wait to see what me makes. I bet it’s great no matter what it is. When it comes to art, he’s very talented.

We chose to see Alice in Wonderland. Corey and I are both big Tim Burton, Johnny Depp, and Danny Elfman fans. We adored the movie. It was a great adaptation of the story. All the actors performed superbly, especially Johnny (but what doesn’t he do well in?–nothing). The effects were great and added so much to the experience. I don’t think the movie would’ve been nearly as good had Tim Burton not directed it.

After the movie, I went out to lunch with Karey Shane. We had a great time together. It was great to get to know each other more. By reading each other’s blogs, we’ve discovered that we have a lot in common and it was nice to expound on those similarities.

After lunch, I came home. Corey and I have been spending some time together watching TV, playing with the cats, and playing on our computers. Even though this anniversary has been/is low key, it’s been a great day, and it will be nice to spend time with each other again tomorrow (even if it’s the first day of Daylight Saving Time :? ).

It’s hard for me to believe we’ve been married for 12 years, and, at the same time, it’s hard to believe we’ve only been married for 12 years. (I think I say that every year. ) We haven’t had it easy. We’ve had our share (and then some) of financial woes, health problems, and other personal matters, but it’s been worth it. I’m glad I married Corey and even knowing what I know our life has been like, I would’ve still married him 12 years ago. I know I couldn’t have done better than I did and I look forward to the next 12 years. ;)

Today, Corey and I celebrated our 11th anniversary. There are times I can’t believe it’s already been 11 years and then there are times when I can’t believe it’s only been 11 years.

We decided to keep it simple this year. (One of these years, we’re going to plan big! ;) ) We decided to go out to lunch and see a movie. We went to lunch at a deli that we both really like. The food’s really yummy and I like the sandwiches because they taste homemade rather than Subway-ish.

After eating, we saw Push with Chris Evans and Dakota Fanning. I was afraid it would disappoint me like Jumper did, but on the contrary, we both enjoyed it a lot. The story was really intriguing and it kept you guessing until the end. We both think it was left open for a sequel so we’ll see what happens.

Anyway, it has been a good 11 years. We’ve had our challenges, but it’s still been good. I think I can speak for both of us when I say that we’re glad to be together. I hope the next 11 years will be just as good, just slightly less hard.

Yesterday, Corey and I celebrated our 10th anniversary! I can’t believe it’s been 10 years already. We weren’t sure what to do because of other obligations, so we didn’t have any big plans. In the end, we decided to go to lunch and a movie together.

For lunch, we went to IHOP. Even though the service usually sucks horribly there, Corey and I love their breakfasts. We hadn’t been for a while and we wanted to go to a sit-down restaurant. As usual, the service sucked, but the food was good!

After lunch, we saw Fool’s Gold with Matthew McConaughey, or McConohotty as I like to call him, and Kate Hudson. I was excited that Corey wanted to see it since I loved them in How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days. We enjoyed it a lot. It was extremely funny! I just wish they had kept out the scene where a girl flashes Matthew.

While we were at the mall, Corey bought Tin Man, the Sci-Fi miniseries adaptation of The Wizard of Oz. Corey wanted to see it when it was on Sci-Fi, but we don’t get Sci-Fi. It was worth the wait. We both really enjoyed it. It’s really weird and a very interesting adaptation, but I thought it was really cool. Because it’s five hours long, the development of the characters and the story are really well done. Even though I didn’t like one of the actresses, it didn’t taint my overall view of the show.

All in all, we had a good day together. :D
