24 in 48 Readathon Wrap-Up

That’s a wrap! I can’t believe the 24 in 48 Readathon is already over! I managed to get in almost 11 hours of reading and finish City of Heavenly Fire and read 101 pages of Reaper. 🍾

I had a great time reading and socializing. Thank you, Rachel, for organizing an amazing event! Even though I didn’t finish my second book or spend a full 24 hours reading, I still had a great time. And, I’m happy with what I accomplished. It was a fun weekend!

Day .5

The readathon technically begins at 10:01pm on Friday night in my neck of the woods so I decided to get some reading in before I went to bed.

Day 1

I started reading around 9:30am on Saturday. I only took one break around lunch time to get breakfast, aka brunch. Around 4:30pm, I finished City of Heavenly Fire. Woot woot! 🎉

Day 2

I didn’t read anymore after I finished City of Heavenly Fire. Something weird happened. I was doing fine and then I wasn’t. I became extremely depressed. I just stayed in bed the rest of the night and went to bed early. I felt much better when I woke up, but I decided not to push myself.

24 in 48 Readathon

I’ve decided to participate in the 24 in 48 Readathon this weekend. The official dates are January 27-28. Here’s how the readathon works:

Beginning at 12:01am on Saturday morning and running through 11:59pm on Sunday night, readers read for 24 hours out of that 48 hour period. You can split that up however you’d like: 20 hours on Saturday, 4 hours on Sunday; 12 hours each day; six 4 hour sessions with 4 hour breaks in between; whatever you’d like. — From Rachel, creator of 24 in 48 Readathon

Sounds fun, right? I think so. Plus, I can actually sleep, which is the best part! 😴

If you want to know more about the readathon or if you want to participate and sign up, check out the official blog.

Anyway, I’m reading City of Heavenly Fire right now, and it’s 733 pages long. I’m a little over 200 pages into it. I hope to finish it during the readathon and make a good dent in, if not finish, my next read. I’m excited! I’ll post a wrap-up after the readathon is over.

Are you going to join in the fun?
