I’ve finished season 1 and now begin season 2.
“Angel,” episode 7, is my favorite so far. I love Angel and I love learning more about him. Having only watched a couple of episodes of Buffy once upon a time, I didn’t really know Angel’s background. Angel assumed that you were a Buffy fan and didn’t always give you the back story on him either. Plus, I haven’t watched Angel from the beginning either, which may have been when they discussed that stuff. I also love Buffy and Angel together!
Episodes 8 and 9 were a little more hokey like the rest of the episodes have been. But, I’ve learned to accept that Buffy doesn’t just deal with vampires. So, that’s a good thing. And, even though Sid (the dummy) was a little weird and creepy, I still liked that episode.
Episodes 10 and 11 were kind of cool. There were some really corny parts that made me snicker, but I really liked their premise. I, however, didn’t like the spiders in episode 10. I definitely could’ve done without those!
Episode 12, the season finale, was kind of disappointing. It all seemed too easy. Sure, the Scooby gang had their hardships and bad things happened, but it was all resolved too quickly and quietly. Plus, it would’ve been interesting to have a cliffhanger. Maybe, I’ll get one at the end of season 2.
I’m liking Giles more and more. I love how knowledgeable he is. And, I love how anti-technology he is. Even though that’s the furthest thing from my own self, I can see his point, especially since I’m 15 years in the future from when these episodes first aired. Joss Whedon must have a little bit of foresight.
I’m also starting to like Cordelia a little bit more. Now that I’ve seen her vulnerable side, she’s not so evil. But, I wish she’d realize that popularity isn’t everything!

I don’t even remember the first season but I do remember it being ridiculously hokey. Enjoy season 2!
I think I will. I’m two episodes into it so far. Next episode, Spike comes!!!
Ugh! I hate Cordelia!! She is annoying in Buffy and in Angel.
Ha! Yeah, she is annoying. But, I like seeing her vulnerable side that tells me she has potential to be human!
Something that does happen at the end of every season is the whole, “Oh no, the world is going to end!” and then, “Whew, we saved it.” I’m not saying it’s not fun, but just get used to that theme. The plots get more developed though, so I think it will seem less anticlimactic as you move forward.
Giles is one of my top four favorite characters. Willow and Xander two of the others. “Xander?!?” you say? Oh yes. You just wait. The fourth is Spike, of course.
Good to know about season finales so I don’t expect anything else, lol. And, I actually like Xander too. Yeah, he’s weird and a little annoying, but he’s fun. He also reminds me of Matthew Perry–his mannerisms and the way he talks.
This is one of my favorite series of all time. I don’t even know how many times I watched it.
Like Leah said there is always a “big bad” for each season. Don’t worry though things are always rocky for the Scooby Gang lol
I’m glad you enjoy it! I’m hoping I’ll enjoy it too!
BUFFFFFY. AND AND AND BUFFY/ANGEL. They are legit my OTP.
Season 1 thoughts: I’m pretty sure it was filmed in the dark on a $10 budget. LOL . That said, it has kind of a special place in my heart, despite the cheese. S2 is, I think, my favorite. Some huge stuff happens. I’ll tell you, that show has broken my heart so many times. I just, I swoon over Angel/Buffy, and over Willow and someone special that comes along with her.
Buffy has the best villains, and the characters…oh man. The Scoobies, and especially the Buffy/Willlow/Xander relationship. AMAZING friendship.
Ha ha! Yeah, I think the same thing about a $10 budget in the dark. I’m excited for S2 and I can’t wait for Buffy and Angel to get together! (I saw the episode long time ago. I was one of the two I saw.)
Just watched the Angel episode today! Yep, I liked it.
Yay! I’m glad you liked it! It was my favorite of the bunch!
Are you a new or old Buffy fan? Either way I’m totally declaring my love for you. Haha! Although season one is enjoyable, I have to say that the second season is my favorite of all seven. I hope you enjoy it! I’m currently rewatching all the seasons (lost track of how many times I’ve watched them now). I’m literally at the moment, about to finish season 6.

I’m a new fan. Before I started watching Buffy at the beginning of the month, I had only seen a couple of episodes before. I had watched more Angel than Buffy. But, a few other bloggers, who weren’t fans of the show while it was on, decided to watch it and I joined in. It’s been fun. I’m excited to see how it turns out.
Jenni, I’m so jealous of you getting to enjoy Buffy for the first time! Ah, the discovery… I miss it. I’m a huge Buffy fan and so excited you are doing this. We’ll have to talk this weekend. Season 1 is a little cheesy, but I’m glad you hung in there cuz you need it for set up. Season 2 is so much better- the whole thing just really hits it stride. 2 and 3 are probably my favorite seasons. Have fun!!!!
Emily! I didn’t know you were a huge Buffy fan. That’s so awesome! We’ll definitely need to talk tomorrow!
I’ll probably have a couple more episodes watched by then.
So are you enjoying it? I think I mentioned before…I’ve never seen it…but never felt the need. I’ll be interested to see if your continued updates confirm my resolve…or change it
Have fun with season 2!
Yeah, I am. It’s been fun. I’m especially liking it a lot more now that I’m in season 2. Season 1 was just weird. I’ll let you know how I feel after a while. I think I can make my final decision about how I feel about it in a few more episodes.
