Another Healthy Update

I lost another 1.6 pounds this week.  This brings my total weight loss to six pounds in three weeks! I’ve been doing really well with my eating and keeping my calorie intake to 1200-1700 calories a day.  I don’t deprive myself of everything.  Otherwise, I’d turn into a half bulimic–binging, but not purging. I just eat the not-so-healthy-foods in moderation.

I think when I’m a little more in shape, I’ll start to lose more weight each week because my exercising will become more vigorous.  Right now, I’m taking it kind of easy because I don’t want to hurt myself and I get winded really easily.  One of the things I’ve been doing that has been helping a lot is avoiding the elevator at work.  Even though I’m almost out of breath when I reach the top, I can tell it makes a difference.

Corey and I are going to use part of our tax refund to buy a treadmill so I can do my cardio that way. I’m getting kind of sick of doing the same exercise routine each day and it has become harder to keep up with the exercise.  (Yesterday, I did DDR for 30 minutes and walked up and down the stairs over and over again for 15 minutes because I needed a change in scenery that badly.)  Even though walking/running on a treadmill can get mundane, I don’t think I’ll get bored because I can listen to my iPod, watch a movie/TV, or read a book while doing it.  I also really want to run a marathon some day so a treadmill will be a great way to train for that.

Way to go on sticking to it Jenni! I love it. How exciting that you guys are looking into a treadmill. That’s one big thing for me is differences in workouts. I have to have the variation or I hit a plateau or become less motivated.

So apparently there is this place in SLC called Discount Exercise, or something like that, I’m not sure. My friend told me about it. She said they sell exercise machines for pretty cheap. I don’t know if they’re used, surplus, or whatever, but you might want to check it out. Good luck!

Thanks for the information, Ashley! :)

Hmm, actually I think it might be Discount Fitness. Never been there so I don’t know what it’s like. Try to Google it. I have a goal of working up to a 5K sometime this spring or summer. I could never do a marathon! Ironically, I actually hate running. But I’m telling everyone that if they want to run it with me (don’t know when that would be), the more the merrier!

Congratulations! Have you tried an Eliptical machine? I like that much better than a treadmill. It wears me out quicker, but I can see changes faster on the eliptical.

  9. Jenni Elyse says:

Yeah, I’ve tried an Elliptical machine. I don’t like them. I’m not coordinated enough to use them.

I’m really proud of you. I knew you would be dedicated to stick to it. I can’t even manage a flight of stairs right now…so I have something to work for. LOL

I’m getting ready to start my own exercise crap. :( I’m going to buy the P90X system. Not sure if you’ve seen it (www.P90X.com) but it looks like it might work.

    Love ya!
