A Possible Change

I really like my blog the way it is, and I guess this is all that matters.  However, I thought I’d get my readers’ opinion on the content of my blog.  I’ve read a few things here and there that say that blogs do better (i.e. more readership) when it focuses on one topic rather than a smörgåsbord of topics.  I’ve been thinking about creating a separate blog for my book reviews and leaving this blog for updates on my doings with Corey, family, friends, school, hobbies (other than reading), etc.  What do you think?  Do you think I should create a separate blog for book reviews?  Or, do you like the one-stop shopping experience?

  1. I’ll still read if it’s two also, but I might not read the book one as often…(just trying to be honest) :) Although it would be convenient when I want to get your review or opinion on a specific book. hmm…I see your dilemma. I will support you in either decision. Sorry if this is of NO help.

  2. Aymee – The nice thing about my blog now is that I do have the link to all my book reviews at the top, so you can find a review that way. So, if it’s easier to just read one blog rather than two, then I’d just as soon keep it as one blog. But, I’ll see what the poll results say before I make my final decision; I’m just curious what people think.

  3. I’d still read both, but I like that the variety on the blog. I have 2 blogs and one is specifically for family updates and that one always gets imported to facebook. I would have kept using only one, but I didn’t like the idea of all my notes being imported as some of them were just for fun and I really like to write a lot.

It gets annoying updating 2 blogs.

  4. Andrea – I can imagine that it would be annoying to update two blogs. That’s why I’m leaning toward keeping it as one blog, especially since I make my book reviews really accessible. Thanks for your input.

  5. Well, I’d check both blogs if you separate them, but I think it’s easier to check just one. And I don’t think those who follow for book reviews mind seeing personal stuff. Personally, I wouldn’t want to keep 2 blogs going, as I’m having a hard enough time keeping 1 going. But, as a friend, I’ll read anything you post.

  6. Tawnya – Thanks for your opinion. I’m starting to think that one blog is good too. I just really want to join the Book Blogger Blog Hop, but I don’t qualify right now. I guess I need to start reading more, so I can qualify. ;)

  7. I would also still read both— and I have to agree that it is hard to update two blogs (at least feel good about frequently updating them) Make the decision that fits you the best. :)

  8. Amber – Yeah, I think I’m going to stick with one blog, at least for now. Once school starts I probably won’t have time to update this blog let alone another one. ;)
